No joke. I looked out the kitchen window this morning and found that my dog ate the connector for the fuel pump on my 2012 99R ADV. I'm ok with a wrench but really prefer plug and play at this stage in life but I'm ok with rebuilding it if that makes the most sense. There are a few YouTube videos that look pretty easy to do.

I've looked online and found a used full-assembly on eBay from a 2010 990 with 23,xxx miles on it. Will it work on the 2012? Also, I've looked at some OEM replacements and they list the assembly "without" the fuel reserve sensor. Is there a separate part number for that or is it still in the tank without removal?

Thanks in advance for the help and please have fun with some jokes at my expense on the title and nature of the post. :ear

Is there a reason you don't want to just replace the connector?

Not opposed to it if it's not too complicated

The connector is "AR". If the dog didn't damage the electrical pins then it would be an easy fix. Remove the pins from the old connector and snap them in the new connector.

You can also just buy 3 pin weather Pak male and female connector at the auto parts store, cut the old one off and use the weather pack connector setup.

If you are lazy any shop can crimp wires and put a plug on. Should be enough slack that losing a 1/2" won't hurt.

Replace with Deutsch 2 pin connectors alot easier to work with.

Done that on some of my bikes.

Thanks for the reference. Which diameter size are the wires? L or R?

She also chewed the Antigravity Start Battery Harness was next to the fuel pump connector. I guess in her defense, the harness being red, black and blue in color being some of the same colors of her various chew toys probaby didn't help

Wire size is 0.5mm so either one would work. Like I said above, if the pins aren't damaged, it's just a matter of switching the plastic part of the connector. The plastic part is the same for either wire size.

Bet you misplaced the dot, it's 0.5mm.
We all agree KTM uses the thinnest wires possible, but not that thin :lol3

Bringing this thread back to life for a bit. Had to pull my left tank to replace my fuel line and noticed the fuel pump connectors are pretty beat up after three owners. Thanks for the info gentlemen, replacement connectors ordered.

Well hell. Received an email to night that the shipping charges were going to more then quadruple the price of the connectors. Uh NO! Cancelled and will source a connector locally.
