Yes, but it’s been a few years and I’ve forgotten the details. I’ll ask Tracy this weekend.

You got me to looking at my FB timeline for Donnie’s pic sitting at a table in Iguala surrounded by women. He and Mode were trying real hard to hook me up down there.
@RW66 told me over dinner one night that I shouldn’t go to Iguala until I was ready to get a wife. Roy’s wife is also from there.

Donnie was on his way back from the states and stopped in Iguala. I sent him a note asking him why he seemed to be stuck in Iguala and not going further south and just stuck there. He told me a friend had set him up and he met a very nice lady. A while later we met Modesta and after talking with her my wife realized Modesta’s father was one of her school teachers when she was young going to school in Iguala. Seemed to be a special connection for us.

Grateful for really nice weather today for Donnie’s funeral. Very nice service. Spent some time with Donnie’s sister Brenda, his daughter Tracy, cousins Billy-Ann and Billy Smith along with a couple of guys here, MC-Collector and jml141. Plenty of stories and laughs shared along with moments of sorrow. I know Donnie a little better now.

I had the honor of being a pall bearer. The bad day was when Donnie passed. Today was a good day.

I thought some might want this information.
We just received a note from Modesta’s daughter. She said they expect her mother’s body to arrive on Wednesday. They plan on having her funeral service later this week.
We would have loved to attended both services but we have a commitment here in California and can’t leave.

That’s good news. Donnie’s service was closed casket, BTW.

I started reading this Ride Report last night. I picked it back up this afternoon. To come across this is beyond words. Unreal.

My most sincere condolences to his family, and those of you that knew them. So very sad. May they both rest in peace.
