At first I was thinking, all joking aside, that something like this would look good on the garage portion of the structure. But then I got to thinking that if you're out in the country, people could mistake your "art and humor" for an actual gas station and you'd have people pulling up to your house all ours of the night!

My new neighbor across the road is building much the same except he is separating his garage by 15’, and living on site in his travel trailer during construction. He said two individuals have stopped and asked I was building an auto shop, and if he was building a Dollar General !

I decided on 28’ x 80’, house section is 824 sq ft. I considered 30’ deep, considered 100’ length, and several combinations thereof, but decided I wanted dedicated bays, and not more than I NEED. This actually gives me 200 sq ft garage space than I have now, but I have no plans of building more cars, industrial equipment, etc., so the “shop” portion is minimal.

Time to enjoy what I want ............... riding motos, hot rods, and quite possibly a sports car addition to the herd.

    Nice building lot BTW !

“If you meet a girl with a ‘92 Corolla, that has beat up fenders, duct tape on the seats, and a “Dollar General” sticker in the rear window, ....................... you’re guaranteed a good time” !

    That’s just what I heard ........... :photog

I've got a 50x100 in mind. Three garage bays and a 25x50 2 bed, 2 bath with tiny office floor plan all worked out in my head. Guest apartment upstairs if there's enough money, storage loft if not.

I truly thought about self sufficiency as I age ! All doors are 36”, so I will be able to drive in the first bay, set out the electric chair, and access the complete house . My next move will be to a nursing home !

Be careful. The problem isn't always about you moving out but about who you let move in.:deal

Get yourself a young Thai chick and die happy, probably quite quickly but, it would be great while it lasts.

Zero chance of either situation !

If groceries were free, could you eat only one food item three meals a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year ?

After I move for retirement, my next move will be the crematorium. I am hoping that assistance robots for elderly seniors will be affordable before I need one, but I do not want to go into a nursing home if at all possible - saw my grandfather vegetate and die in one - not what I want at all, I would sooner just ask for a really 'healthy' dose of sedative.

When I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather, not frightened and screaming like the passengers in his car.
