Bang in a line of fast growing evergreens along the road and you would have all the privacy you could ever need.

lol I was joking, I'm one of those strange "happily married types". And I have a 3,300 sf timber frame weekend cabin on 30 acres of bush that I spend about 40% of my time at. Get plenty of "me time" away from the house in the city, secret to a long happy marriage. :D

My buddy has a 2 car by 2 car mortin and insulated it with rigid foam panels. When it rains it is deafening.

And yes, I am thinking about doing this also but it would be an upgrade not a downsize for me.

First night in the place !

Boxes everywhere, more items to retrieve, many things to assemble and etc, but it was time.

Two weeks in, my only major regret is not building this 25 years ago !

Becoming quite accustomed to this amazing view from the house .........................

I just saw this thread today for the first time and read all. I didn't have any advice for you along the way, so I'm glad I got it this way. It's like long ride reports. When it takes all summer, I forget pieces as I read updates.

There is a similar building near me. When I get over that way, I'll get a picture and post here. I laughed when I read the electric gate suggestion because the one near me has one. I heard it might be for sale soon. I may look at in a new light from now on.

Thanks for the story. I love the results.
