Dave was a great guy and I'm sure he's fondly remembered by many.
How about a remebrance trip next year back to NS.
Maybe someone could catch up with C-Satin who is trying to arrange an Alantic rally and the rally date could coincide with a memorial for Dave.
2 real good reasons to ride out east.

I visited the memorial today. The brush at the sides of the highway has been cut back so it is much more visible. It looks fine, even the stickers under it and on the guardrail are still there.

It was a very cold foggy ride.

Riding the Cabot Trail tomorrow ( Friday 29th) and would like to know where Dave's Memorial is, to pay my respects.
If any one can, it would be appreciated.
( just spoke to an HD rider out of Pennsylvania who did the trail in the rain and said there was a 5 KM stretch of gravel with no guard rails)

From Neils Harbour, head South on the Cabot Trail. When you come to the Buchanan Memorial Hospital on your right side just past New Haven Rd. Keep your eye on the guard rail on your Left. It goes for about a 1/4 mile before it ends for a bit, then another guard rail starts for about 200ft or so. When it ends, pull off the road and about 25 feet further on and look to the rock face (it's not large) on the north side of the road (opposite side as the guard rail). There you will see the memorial. google maps 46.808593, -60.342059

Hey Greg, what Rummy said, basically it about here , if you are coming from the south theres a parking lot by the creek thats a easy walk if you dont want to park on the side of the road. Its real easy to see as the brush is all trimmed down around it, I had no problem spotting it from the road.

I posted on FB t the time but forgot to put it here, we were there on July 6th with couple frosty beverages to toast Dave including a Nicklebrook!

Thanks guys for your help. My wife and I are planning on an early start, hopefully the fog lifts a little. It has settled in pretty good here at Louisbourg.
It would be great to hear about other ADVrs that are able to stop at Daves Memorial.
He was, what we are all about!!!!

Made a quick trip North today and stopped to check the memorial. All looks well, but I didn't climb up this time. I was on the big bike and had my fancy boots on. Beautiful day.
