Lowered footpeg fabrication progress for my gangly height and long legs. Even with tall bars, I'm wanting a touch more, so I built some custom peg brackets. These use stock DR350SE rubber bushings, and will take Aprilia SXV/RXV Pivot Pegs. They are just iver an inch lower and a tiny bit back. I tested the position with some ugly plates I built and bolted to the frame, allowing a lower mounting point for the stock brackets and pegs. The position was good, but they hung way down below the bottom of the frame.

I didn't get pics of the left side after welding. They are off to powdercoat next week, and I'm getting excited about riding this bike again!

Did the panels bolt right on or was there some tweaking involved?

A little tweaking. Flat aluminum on the lower mount to make the gap, upper bolt lined up.
You can check in my build thread for specifics.

In case anyone had headlight ideas and wanted a fresh example. Street fighter fairing, h4 bulb. I didn't like it at first, but after actually riding at night I'm pretty happy with it. Way lighter. [IMG]

They are 08+ rmz UFO panels, I think.
I used aluminum flat stock to extend from the lower frame mounts to where the lower panel holes line up, and put a bolt and nut through the upper hole, and a wingnut with the wings cut off on the end of the stud. The wingnut is tapered and pops into the upper frame bushings just like stock. It was actually super easy, but I had to remove a good bit of extruded plastic from the back of the panels to make them fit.

I have a build thread somewhere detailing it. I think it's called DRMX441 - Fun Wheel Drive.

I'm looking at replacing a well modded XR650L that was recently stolen. A well modded DR350 is on the short list. Anyone have a well modded DR350 they are thinking if selling???

I live in N.W. South Carolina roughly 35 minutes from Asheville N.C., distance is an issue but not an absolute deal breaker. Just want a well modded DR. Prefer big bore, would love a 250 wide ratio gear set and would be giddy if it was running RMZ or some other UD fork option. I swapped a set of CRF450 front forks onto my XR650L and it was the best bag for the buck mod I did to it.

Found a nearly bone stock 98 local with something like 5600 miles. Supposedly a very, very nice bike. He’s at 1900$ firm. Middling deal for a supposedly exceptional bike?????

It’s not modded but I can do a bit at a time over time. Would be nice just to get out with the grandson again.
