There's no magic bullet for a successful ride. I'll provide some tracks as we close in on the dates but if they don't go well, please don't shoot the messenger. What I mean is, I'm extraordinarily familiar with my local riding areas and would be very comfortable customizing a route for anyone who wanted to ride around here but I am not very familiar with La Sal/ Moab having only ridden there a few times. This is why I keep reiterating that everyone do their own homework. If you decide that it's too much work and you just want to latch onto someone else, that's fine. If you are good with digging into the web and coming up with a good plan, then by all means, go for it. Same as you and I heading into the unknown that time at Pahrump. I had ridden 0% of those trails but I had done my homework and that made for an incredibly memorable ride but we just didn't know until we went out and rode it.

WRT isn't hard but it is exhausting. Be prepared for a long day. I have a condensed version of the ride which touches on some fantastic parts of the WRT but doesn't make it a FULL day. I bet lots of folks would dig it as a "Taste of Moab" day. :nod

My norm is to just head out somewhere and use GPS to get home. Your rides were awesome! I promise not to complain no matter what, and I am appreciative of your abilities to plan great routes.

Keep in mind - beer bought at convenience/grocery stores in UT will be 3.2 % alcohol by wt. 4% by volume.

State liquor stores may have stiffer stuff, but they mostly don't refrigerate it, so it sits out on the floor at room temp.

    If that matters to ya.

I've never been asked about such things when entering the state. :beer

I expect to be bringing a swack of various Canadian High Test samples for sharing.

Something unique to Canada perhaps? My least favorites are IPA's, but I'd rather have an IPA to a PBR. Currently my favorites are a Scottish style ale or a dark lager. Does that make me a beer snob? :1drink

You will fit right in. My likes tend towards dark ales, porters, & stouts. Low hop lagers I can choke down.

Follow up idea: As I'm already bringing Lil' Steve a beverage, why not expand that to include everyone? Maybe bring some local beers from your own areas & we could do a sharing one night.. Something NOT a nationwide brand. I plan to bring a couple dozen mixed brews.

hmmm.... thought I'd take a look at options.

"As of July 22, 2018, San Diego County is home to 157 breweries, 35 tasting rooms and 14 brewpubs, for a grand total of 206 beer locations, 185 of which are San Diego craft beer."

I'll grab a selection. Great idea! Looked at some beer flight boards but too pricey. Red cups it is, if sharing. :)

Please, I beg of you, NO Molson XXX!

I think if I even smell it again I will start dry heaving! Did you know you can vomit so hard you burst blood vessels in your forehead? I didn't until I drank a 12 pack (or so) of Molson XXX. :puke2

Molson is the largest brew company in Canada. Automatically disqualified.

I’m bringing some from Asheville. Since I only drink one beer a night, 8% is more effective :-)
