Yesterday I got a surprise birthday present, a trailer that will carry bikes. So, I am now planning on driving to LaSal and bringing the DR and one other for somebody to play with. KTM 200, TW200, or Beta trials bike? Any wants or suggestions?

    TW200 for cyberdos
Although the Beta would be the cool bike to bring.

    Oh, and happy birthday! :beer

Anyone have an general idea what the weather would be around during the rally week?

I was planning to arrive in Utah a week early, but with 100s °F that plan is being bump back.

3 Step is about 6600' altitude (Google Earth) which will help a lot. I wonder if 3 Step has daily temperature comparisons with Moab available? :scratch

It would be perfect in the rare event that we run out of firewood.

I created a few 'quickie' loops around the 3 Step here:

We are always about 12 degrees cooler than Moab. Moab is at 4000 feet. We are at 6500 feet.

Route planning; who else might be interested in the White Rim Trail? Been on my Bucket list for a while now.

Make sure to get an early start, it's a long day's ride.

When I think about how bushed I was last year when we got back to the house after riding the WRT... Well, I wouldn't have wanted to add another 100 miles onto that ride.

Yup, not many places to take a break in the shade. We kept it moving, not stopping for too many picture opportunities due to the heat. @Fishnbiker not trying to talk you out of it, its a very scenic ride. Just giving you info so you can plan and know what to expect. If it's a bucket list ride, by all means do it, we'll be keep the beer cold back at camp.

Better to do it out of Moab before or after the rally. I'm hoping to do it after the rally. Done it twice before; its a long, tiring day even from Moab.

We'll have to talk face to face. Thanks.
Apparently, a TW200 may be available

On the list of rides that i've put together there is a track called "Taste of the WRT"

    https://caltopo.com/m/DDAM

It comes in from Moab and goes up Long Canyon, drops you down through the Shafer switchbacks to Musselman Arch. Then out Potash.

I love riding the WRT but it's a really long day. If you want just a taste, I highly recommend that loop instead. It's a 110 mile loop from La Sal.
