In case some missed it in the DR thread...

Some recent talk of footpegs got me thinking.....so I made contact with Warp9.

Kevin has agreed to a group buy for DR650's. He has asked for me to get the word out.

1 set of Warp9 DR650 footpegs - pick the color - $150 - please direct shipping questions to Kevin - thx.

    Contact Kevin directly: kevint@Warp9Racing.com

Group buy ends at midnight Pacific Standard Time/USA - Feb 17, 2019.

I haven't seen a lot of info on support infrastructure yet. Any knowledge of nearest groceries & fuel. Or do we pack everything?

    Thanks.

It seems like the nearest available general store is about a 30 minute drive away. https://goo.gl/maps/nkbV4oLMDV22
Fuel is available on site, or a bit further away in Moab, 45-50 minute drive. Also the same drive (45 min) south in the town of Monticello. I'd pack in what you think you'll need, and pick things up on the way back from your day's ride. Breakfast and dinner is included in the pricing, but if you're like me you're going to want to bring your own snacks to pack along on rides, and also for hanging at the campsite. Oh, and beer! :beer

I read through the thread but may have missed it, what would the cost be if one wanted to camp at 3 Step with everyone but cook separately?

I apologize if this might be a deal breaker to potential attendees, but in the interest of keeping it simple, the options were food for all, or none.

I'm not sure I follow...meaning anyone who wants to camp at 3 Step has to also partake in the meals, or camp elsewhere? (i.e. not be part of the rally?)

That's the way I understood it when communicating with Scott. It would be difficult for him to track who gets a meal, who doesn't, etc. You can contact him directly to see if there is an option to camp there without the inclusion of meals.

This sounds interesting, haven't really posted much in the DR thread here but i've spent a lot of time with the DR and a DR specific even sounds awesome. need to look into the logistics of getting my bike out there.

Maybe one of the guys wanting to ship a bike out here can investigate a freight receiving/storage service in Moab. Might be some synergy where several riders could arrange a place to land bikes and stage for 3-Step. I'd offer same in Salt Lake but I'm in the process of moving and don't have any space to commit at the moment. I'll check and see if I know someone that knows someone. Here's a list if anyone wants to make some calls:

Edit; 5 x 10 Trailer large enough for 4 bikes plus gear. Check ...

More ulterior motives though. Now I have an excuse to bring the DR to the Arctic this summer along with 2 kayaks & 2 E-bikes. Will be taking 2 months to get to Tuktoyaktuk & home. Mrs Fishnbiker wants a huge spread on the map between our kayaking paddles after us going to Tasmania Australia in 6 weeks.

The trailer will be right sorted by September.

I sent a query today about the no meals option. Will report back when I get an answer. I have been to several rallies that offer little voucher tickets to those who pay for meals in advance. Others are on their own. shouldn't seem like a big deal. Pay & eat or no pay, & feed yer self.

I got a reply from Scott yesterday and he confirmed its all or nothing. But i agree it should be fairly simple to separate those with and without meals. Maybe if we have enough interest in a no meals group we could swing that with Scott. I think that would be helpful.

I am also concerned about food content. My son is celiac & needs his own predictable diet or there's gut problems for days.
