    Hahahahahahahaha :imaposer

Obviously that picture was taken after I had stopped heavy breathing and was able to hold my Gatorade...
Maybe I was unconscious when you shot the pictures?
I think that was about a 30 minute break before I was ready to continue on.

I did, however, really like the trail and would love to do it again in cooler temperatures. :ricky
It wasn't difficult, just challenging enough to be fun to ride.
Other than the heat in the oven. :pep

Looking again at the picture I think I died. :grim

You may not have physically been there, but you certainly had a presence there. I failed miserably at ensuring everyone attending the rally got a beer, courtesy of you, but rest assured, the beer was shared, and consumed. Thanks for that, it's just another one of those things that make this a special crowd.

James, I’m very happy you caught up with our group. I barely had a chance to speak with you during the event and was honored to ride with you! Yea, it was hot! We had a great cast of characters along with us, it was awesome. I only regret the injury suffered, all the rest was just a good experience which we will remember. Yes, it was a nice trail.

    Cheers mate.
If nothing else, at least you now have an understanding of my math skills..
If that's how much beer I bring when I don't attend a DR rally, just wait until I do attend one.. :lol3
And when I do one day, you and me and a bunch of other good folk from here.. - :freaky

This is an awesome photo! I too gave up the ghost early on every ride we were on that week because of the heat. Fortunately, the coolest and best weather was on the multi-flat day where still, at least once I was overly insistent we ride to a shade spot.

Well, after riding 3 miles on the flat looking for shade, that decision certainly paid off!

These pics made me wonder, is Lynn or Terry on this forum? I keep thinking that the CZ bike I have in the back yard might be something one of them might be interested in. I have decided I'll never get around to restoring it, and I'd like to see it go to a good home. How do you get in touch with those guys?

Neither is on the forums but Terry lurks sometimes. I will PM his email address to you. Dunno if he's interested in CZs but if not he certainly knows somebody who would qualify as a good home.

All you gearheads would love to take a tour of Terry's shop and barn.

No worries NGNL, we enjoyed your beer (and left some from home, ferried 2,000 miles to replace it). You were toasted more than a few times; with only occasional exceptions the poetry was quite complimentary. You were there in mind if not body.

Thanks, and time works things out - we’ll all get together someday.

    Cheers mate. Much appreciated.
I head off for 2 weeks riding down to Phillip Island MotoGP in about 4 weeks.
first break since last years GP so I'll be having a few beers along the way and be in a rally headspace so to say. :thumb

And @Lil' Steve @cyberdos there may be a few pics of the trip ending up in the DR thread..
No particular reason.. it's not like I'm planting seeds or anything.. :D
Yep, it'll be mates, laughs, riding, beer, tunes and world class racing..
when I say it out loud it sounds just like the DR rally..

Thanks for the link, I sent him an email. I bet I would love to take a tour of his place! That would be great to find a home for this thing.

yeah- just don't try to top that! I heard a few comments around the rally about you and cliffs- didn't really know what all that was about.
Saw your thread about your mishap after getting home- holy shit! Glad you are ok- I don't know if I'd have the balls to ride again after that:beer

Is it a baby poop orange 250 MX bike from the early 70s? I have a thing with those.

No, it's a yellow street bike from 1972. Or 73, I forget. Nearly brand new except it was stored in the barn in VA and the humidity really got to it.
