As you can tell from the title I am not a fan of Christmas music. With that said, I was wondering what the folks who have Christmas in the summer listen too. In the US it seems like the same 40 songs for months every year. And the music is already starting. I was thinking if I could find alternates to what is typically played here I might be able to get my local restaurant to try it out.

    Thanks for the help.

Let's face it. Christmas is about commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed on December 25. The only "alternative" is about an old fat pedophile molesting children. :-)
You have mainly three choices. IMHO
-"The shopping mall songs", are played from the beginning of November until next year January. Most people are already sick of them after two weeks. This is what is thrown into your face on YouTube, Spotify, radio, restaurants, and pubs.
-Real Christmas songs. You heard all of those circulating in the English-speaking world and you are rightfully fed-up with those. Alternatively, you can start to wonder into the culture of other nations. You will find some real gem. These are mostly coming from a Christian religious background and rarely suit occasions/events like dinking in a pub or company dinner. Dig around the German songs if you looking for something more suitable for a pub.
-The third group is a mix of the above very liberally interpreted by old and/or run out of ideas "pop stars". You heard all of these as well, I guess.

You can start to dig along the lines of the list below to find what suits your taste/idea about Christmas.
    Il Est Né -
    Gregorian Christmas songs -
Finland, Raskasta Joulua - Mielenrauhaa -
    German Christmas song -
    Polish, Today in Bethlehem -
    Hungary, Mennyből az angyal -
    Russia, Kaliadka -
    K-Pop (Jpn ver.) -

If you dismiss all the above, start along this line.
    The Maccabeats, Candlelight -

I used to enjoy hearing the Trans Siberian Orchestra 's Holiday music but now I'm sick of that too. Kinda like the same 20 songs they play at all the vintage car shows.

Thanks for the info. I found a couple of songs that are tolerable here.

    https://www.elle.com/culture/music/g29217/best-weirdest-christmas-songs/

    Fat Daddy
    Shonen Knife
James White starts off a little weird
    Clarence Carter
John Denver I wonder if he was writing this about his own drinking.
Cyndi Lauper This could be a good drinking song
    Dragonette

I guess it is time to load good music on the phone and bring the headphones with me for the next 2 months when I am out.

Love any good song with a great hook and a solid back beat, Christmas themed or whatever.

Nothing gets me reaching to change a station faster than a Christmas song.

Yep, they were hassling it on the radio the other morning. They only played snippets and it's truly awful. I repeat, do not watch/listen to it (I didn't).

Well, there are always alternative X-mas carols

Root Boy Slims' "Christmas In K-Mart"
    Tom Lehrer's "A Chritmas Carol"

And, with the warning STOE (Something To Offend Everyone)
Just Google "The Kinsey Sicks Christmas Medleys" and "Oy-Vey In The Manger"

Those get me through the holiday season every year...
