I've caught up to Gerard to diagnose my poorly running Honda crf250L.
I like his experience in setting up and maintaining adventure bikes and since the crf's engine needed a top end re-build I discussed with him the possibility of sourcing a used cbr300r engine to transplant into the crf.
Luckily for me he's said yes to the work and I've ordered the cbr engine. Should arrive next week.
I'll start a new thread on the transplant.
Haven't been able to find any evidence of it being done yet.
A few have used parts from the cbr250 and 300 but not an entire engine swap.
I'll put up a link for the thread here soon.

So my Honda crf300r/l build has been done by Gerard. He received the engine on Thursday. Had it in and running by Thursday afternoon. Spotted that my steering head bearings were knackered and replaced them and re-greased the swing arm bearings while he had the back wheel off. I picked the bike up last night (Saturday) after work. I had him put some risers, Renthals and new grips on while he was doing the steering head bearings as I wanted to ride Sunday morning so he worked on it until 7pm. That's on a stinking hot Saturday mind you.
If you want to support a guy with a business that delivers (he's mobile and all) what he says he will do when he says it will be done...Go see Gerard.

Thanks to Gerard for working on my new-to-me Ranger.
He gave it a once over and fitted a Provent catch can and Directions Plus pre-filter.
The kit needed a longer hose and Gerard also fitted better hose clamps.
    Cheers mate !

A Sunday ride 2 weekends ago was canned when the Husky starting starving for fuel. Limped home and took it to Gerard to work out what was the root of the problem.
Had it sorted and it now runs better than ever.
