Wet leaves, yuck glad you are back on the road though.
5c with 50kph wind gusts and Noa wanted to see if the new restaurant was open yet. It's been sitting like this since the spring. Guess they gave up on it. What does it look like it was going to be?
My hind end puckered up when I saw those leaves on the wet road! Lovely image, but... "slick when wet."
How's she holding up after some kid's on her?
Spinning like a well balanced top. I've only done about 350km since the rebuild and I did the first long highspeed ride today. Was staying close to home for the first 250km variying my speeds and building confidence... (in Noa)
Odometer is still wonky, used 12 litres of fuel so far. I'm using 3.5L per 100km (67mpg) for my distance. Takes 7.2 litres when the low fuel light comes on so I'm guessing 210km (130miles) per fill.
Oil level hasn't moved a millimeter and its still as clear as when it went in. Would have been dark brown by now before the rebuild.
The 10 gram Dr Pulley sliders raised the rpm to 7500 when wide open throttle compared to 6000rpm with the stock 11.2 gram rollers from 20 to 110kph. Get to use more of the powerband when I want. Crusing at 80kph at 6000rpm with half throttle and snap WFO it jumps to 7500rpm. Go from almost peak torque (spec: 14.9 lbs-ft torque at 6500rpm) for efficiency to almost peak horsepower for acceleration.
Top speed today was 134kph (83mph) on the gauge at 8250rpm (spec: 22 hp at 8250 rpm). Rev limit might be 138kph (86) instead of 143kph (88) with stock rollers. More testing is needed as I've only tried it once.
Rpm are based off this not very accurate gauge. Each bar is 750rpm. All scooters should have a tach IMO.
Cold temps really zapped the psi from my tires. Checked them before todays ride and they were 25front and 27rear. Pumped the front to 31 and rear to 33psi.
$26 "clip-on windshield windscreen extension deflector" from Amazon is working good now. First day out I hit a big bump doing 70kph and the adjustable pivots lost their grip. Added crazy glue to the pivots and they haven't moved even at 120kph but now of course it's no longer adjustable. This one is 14.5" wide on the Faco "4 season" windscreen.
Ordered a left mirror from eBay for $38usd.
Nice day to checkout my favorite park.
I have a left mirror I just replaced with scratches on the chrome you can have for free?
Thanks Eric that's really nice of you! But I ordered mine on Sunday and has already shipped.
Glad I got a 3 hour ride in yesterday even though it was 5c. This morning it looks like this...
fuck that noise
At least tomorrow looks "nice". Then I have to wait till Wednesday.
It's starting to rain a little here now, forecast say's it will rain most of the night and drop to below freezing in the morning. Black ice is always a hoot here in the Piedmont. I'll just stay indoors until it melts. Old man with a cane does not do well in ice or snow conditions .
How's she running after you put kn's on her after freshen up?
I've been frozen-in for 11 days. It's starting to look like the shining around here.
It's a beautiful sunny 2c day and the roads are clean but the path to Noa is 3 inches deep. Have to try and get her out today. I think I remember her runnin' really well and not burning any oil. The new mirror is now installed.
Rode around for about 2 hours and used almost half a tank of gas so about 100km. Noa didn't care that it was 3c and she's running very smooth. At one point I looked down and saw 130kph! I wasn't even trying!
What a difference a day (or 12) makes at my favorite park.
Right on! Glad you got out for a bit!
