Sorry to hear Ratman getting injured. Take care Pete and wish you a quick recovery :devildog .

See you soon, your eagle pass is valuable to us! :lol3

I have to add, RiverRat did a great job. He's the kind of guy you want around when you ride. I know him to be pretty patient, helpful, and resourceful. Damn good rider as well.

You have heard from them? I was beginning to think we needed to send out a search and rescue mission to Greenhorn.

Last I heard they had been kidnapped by a band midget aliens that were going to use them to breed with to save their shrinking race on their home planet. :eek1

The nonfiction version. LTS did not think it prudent to put Ms.Biancas' life on the line, and continue on, for a couple of days of play. That could be the other way round also. At any rate good on ya LTS for taking pause. :thumb

Thanks everyone for the kind words. As usual, the smarter and better looking one of us at least made someone aware of our choice.

So here's the deal: going over Pacheco we hit snow (after driving rain up to this point) and a BUNCH of rock slides. I was actually starting to get concerned of flash floods or mud slides. Either way, we were creeping along at 25 mph in 2nd with my shield up as I couldn't see at all, the temp kept dropping and it just plain sucked.

We "camped" at Mercy Hot Springs (probably won't do it again because laying in the water for a few hours at $25 a head is a little ridiculous).

As treadless mentioned, there was no reason to put her/us through that and the lowest pass I could find was 4300 feet. Considering what I saw at 1600, and no signs of letting up and this just being a weekend trip, there was no reason to prove the point. She is the toughest girl I've ever met for putting up with what she did, and I'd rather like to do more adventures in the future with her, so I made the executive decision to head back. We rode through rain the whole way back and just plain slept.

For the record, msBianca WAS down with pushing on, but I just didn't want to push her that hard. You all know what a moron I am, so solo I probably would have pushed on, but with the responsibility of her on the back, to err on the side good judgement seemed most prudent.

Here's the part that sucks, I'm crazy back into the groove at work and will be traveling for the next month's worth of weekends at least, so this was going to be a good break for me and I'm pretty pissed it didn't work out.

Thanks again guys, and I'll try to get to WARPED.

Smart move Sally, I was in a truck and was white knuckled over Tehachapi in the blizzard Thursday night. Death Valley was nice, but everywhere else sucked bad apparently. Glad you are both oK..I didn't want to search the slopes of Greenhorn:evil .
