For anyone who would like, I'm planning on doing the power line trail from Slocan to Fauquier next Friday.

I guess it's called Passmore to Fauquier, but I'll be coming from Summit Lake, so was thinking to rendezvous at the Slocan fuel station around 9, and go from there.

These are just rough plans, and I'm open to meeting elsewhere, at just about anytime that works for folks, so just let me know.

This is all only happening if there's not a bunch of the white stuff laying around, of course.

    I'm on a 690, with moderate skill, I'd say.

You might get more hits on a west kootenay thread for this ride. Either way drop a quick ride report when/if you complete this. Its been on my radar for awhile now. Good luck

    Will do. Thanks

No guarantees on the ride report, but I'll throw up a Readers Digest version up

Finally got around to taking a crack at this route and while i made it through it took its toll on my bike and my body. In my opinion this trail is for an atv or side by side from just past Top of the World to Wilhorse Outfitters cabins. There are some tight uphill sections with loose dirt/mud and some long washed out roads that are like ridding river beds. Also some deactivation dig outs that if you lost momentum would be a real problem getting out of. Bent haddlebars, abroken lever and some nasty bruises are my reward for this one.

Sorry to hear about damage. I have heard of the two routes connecting but have never experienced it. Well done

For those of us who consider winter to be the six months when our bikes are not insured, we are half way through it. That's something at least. Skype_Picture.jpeg

Thank goodness for small mercies. Think I managed my last ride in the first or second week of November. I think...

FYI - new adv rider business based out of Cranbrook (?) I met this guy at xmas and he offered to show me around the area a bit in summer. Now it looks like he’s started a business.

Lower sections and valley floor are drying up in the radium area. Still soft and some ice here and there in the full time shade. Hopefully folks won't be dicks and roost the fack out of the trails when it's soft like this. Starting to see more bikes out. Snow about midway to summit. Lower elevation trunk roads are in great condition and are superb for a spirited drift, as not much traffic and not granite hard just yet.

Had the WR out this weekend, it’s scary how dry things are this year compared to past years. My bike should have been caked with mud but instead I rinsed off dust this evening. We need rain.

I'd gladly send you some of our regularly occuring Saturday snowfalls, but I realize our farmers need it too.
I hope you guys get what you need. No one wants fire season to start in May

Bull River to Whiteswan is completely clear of snow. Very early compared to the last few years. Hartley is passable with only a few patches of snow remaining on the road. My guess is Grey Creek will be passable in early June this year.

Access trail is steep and rocky and you can ride right into the drift.
