The morning had a brisky wind.[IMG]

    Took a walk.

    Had a visit.

    Remembrance with a view.

I decided to ride up the road to a point where I knew I would have to turn around.

The bike is so dialed in right now, no issues with the decent.

Back in the comfort of the canyon.

As I exited the canyon the wind became quite strong. Made it over the pass, pealed off to the north east to the big river valley for fuels.

A site out of or some what sheltered from Mr. W. is what I was looking for as I rolled up the next pass.

After the familiar stuff I did a bit of work on new terrain. The geology in this region is wonderfully volcanic.

    Great stuff......

As I let the clutch out it seemed I would be climbing to a pass, the next half mile was the most challenging of the trip. I only stumbled once, made it to the pass with an accelerated heart rate.:raabia A nice site sheltered from the breeze.

The view from the front porch.

The elevation at Pima where I fueled is around 2,800', the summit of the hill across the valley is just over 10,700' not counting the scope http://mgio.arizona.edu/, a similar vertical relief valley to summit as the rockies in Colorado.

Once down here I could ponder the geology again, everything was gonna be alright! :ricky

Being sweaty and now finding third and fourth gear was a little chilly.......it was cold only for a few as I made it to the junction, now heading back to work in the hills.

After turning back and climbing up a good one I came to a junction that I suspected tied in with the main rim road, it ran this canyon bottom for several miles to a secondary road that connected.

Higher speeds both wheel and wind kept it brisk enough to have no problem stopping for shots and finding a sheltered lunch spot, I knew right where to go.

Leaving gbr nca I cross the Gila, find Hackeal road and head for the Hot Well Dunes, I forgot my flag.

As I was setting up I thought that's a damn loud SXS, then I turned around.

That was a spectacular sight and sound.

    Pitched in the sand.

Happy hour was awesome listening to but not seeing the guys getting their evening runs in.

This with the mid pipe and carb free mods done has made the bike smooth and powerful.

Feeling good n sore this morning. I have one more day of riding, beautiful weather, and route options abounding.
I start right out of the ohv area intending to loop back on eighty percent new to me roads.

The route heads around the se flank of the Whitlock range.

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Looks like a small dam.

First thing I see are the bed rock mortars. The big one has got to be 12 to 14 inches deep.

    This deep.

    The riding got really good.

Hit Hackberry or Huckleberry depending on what map you use.

    That sand looks funny.

    Silt.
Many more miles of sand brought me back to the area 26 mile loop.

I roll through wave at the ranger, cross the pavement and head to the river.

    Dry today.

    Lots of sand ahead.

At the second pavement crossing I hit 51 miles so far of sand, rock, and dirt, not even half way home.

    Back in the hills.

Done with the hills for a while but still racking dirt miles.

Finally forced onto pavement at 68 miles, making dust again at 74 miles.

Cross pavement for the third time.

    In the neighborhood now.

    I took this shot.

Ten minutes later this shot shows some BP ship action on the other side of the river. High zoom on the above pic reveals the circling ship.

At the fourth pavement crossing I met a BP Agent, he asked if I saw a red Jeep.

Great pictures and report. At first I was a bit frustrated that you haven't noted where exactly you were riding but I find that by not knowing, I can enjoy the scenery for what it is rather than thinking that I will follow your tracks.
