    Met up with Pat again.

As I rolled into the desert in the truck I knew where I wanted to ride.

Great miles of desert led us towards the Whitlock mountains.

    Absolute remote desert evening.

Wonderful view for happy hour this evening.

Rolling in the morning towards a site I have wanted to revisit for a year.

The more I look at your ride report the more envious I am of you and your buddy riding out there. BTW, it seems like quicksand could be a real scary deal. Great RR.

As seen in the prior pages I have been here a year ago, it was HOT, I knew then that I would be back, now I am blessed with perfect temps and light to document this well preserved head frame and chute.

The rest of the day's riding was pounding wind, I knew of a somewhat sheltered camping area out of the wind.

Ironically enough three hundred yards from a wind farm!
Happy hour had a slight breeze next to the creek while the windmills were doing very loud three second revolutions.

In the morning the front had passed and the behemoths were sitting still.

Pat and I parted ways and I headed towards the ten miles of sand in Tres Alamos.
    [IMG] [IMG]

    Perfect conditions!

Familiar ranch roads led me home.

What brand are the little tank panniers you have? They look like they work very well.

    Thanks,
I gave up the traditional tank bag because it was in the way when I really needed to be forward in tec terrain.

Many thanks! Does Mosko make the mounting harness you're using?

It may not be fast (it isn't), but it will take you anywhere you've a mind to go. :yikes :wings

Glad to see you back in the saddle again. 'Way to rub it in.
The snow is hanging in here, so don't hurry back...
