Anyone know what weekend the EOAR will be this year? Believe it or not my calender is filling up quick for next year and I don't want to miss it.

    Here are the details:

    Details details!
    May 25-27th 2011
    ELMHIRST’S RESORT
    KEENE, ONTARIO, CANADA
    KoL 2G0
    PHONE: 1.800.461.1940 or 705.295.4591

    Arrive Friday evening.
Check in (3:00 pm) to your comfortable cottage for two nights. Each cottage has three bedrooms (one with twin beds, two with queen beds), full equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with open fireplace, four piece bathroom, outdoor deck with gas BBQ. All are located directly on the waterfront with deck furniture and private dock Ideal for four singles or two couples per cottage.
Two restaurants (one pub style with Patio, one upscale - both featuring Black Angus beef raised on the resort property) are open for Friday evening meals at participants expense or your cottage is fully equipped to prepare your own meal.
Evening briefing in the Wild Blue Yonder Pub at 2100 (9:00 pm)

    Saturday morning breakfast buffet.
Depart for the 400 km rally. Ride individually or in groups.
Spouses/families who attend but do not wish to ride have use of the resort facilities for the day. Spa appointments, horseback riding and ATV Safaris may be booked prior to arrival.
On return from the rally enjoy the resort facilities: Indoor and outdoor pools, exercise and spa facilities, completely equipped waterfront with canoes, kayaks, fishing boats, pontoon boats, tennis courts, hiking trails, horseback riding, sightseeing flights etc. or head to the outdoor patio at the Wild Blue Yonder to enjoy local tap beer.
Meet at the hanger for the ever popular steak barbecue, prior to the campfire. There's sure to be lots of stories to share. BYOB and guitars.

First Light Tour around Rice Lake for early risers Sunday.
Sunday breakfast is included this year…
    Check out (11:00 am)
200 km ride route provided for those looking for the long way home.
    $165 per person plus taxes

    Upgrade to a larger cottage

    $195 per person plus taxes
Two nights accommodation in a larger, multi level cottage with two bathrooms (one with large whirlpool bath). Two couples have separate bathrooms and bedrooms located on different levels in the cottage.

    Outdoor Types

    $75 per person plus taxes

Bring your tent and situate yourself on a patch of grass near the hanger. Washrooms nearby; showers available at the indoor pool. This option is getting more popular each year!

We found last year that this event has reached a very comfortable number at around 100 participants which is large enough to feel like a big event yet small enough to keep it very socially interactive….which IS the motivation here. It will most certainly sell out so do yourselves and the organizers a favour and call them to book your spot thus avoiding the scramble two weeks before the rally.

The question always comes up about joining in just for the ride and not the rest of the rally because they live close or whatever…. The motivation of the organizers is one of social and camaraderie that comes with adventure motorcyclists breaking bread over dinner and a few libations around a campfire. It takes a considerable amount of time and energy to get this thing to go every year and its always a pleasure to do it! If the ride is all that you are interested in, Id be more than happy to do a few miles with you some other time. In the case of the rally however, we'd really like to keep all the rally activities that we organize for the dedicated rally participants that we happily and enthusiastically put these efforts in for.

Looking forward to seeing you all again this year!

Woohoo, we were talking just that this afternoon at Dual Sport Plus.

No dates were discussed but I'm sure it will be firmed up shortly. Pretty sure I've got about 100k or so to add to the drcool gravel map.

Way to think way past winter!

Touche'. Will day riders, not staying at the resort, be allowed to participate or is this another for profit event allowing those who are registered at The Elmhirst's Resort to ride the public roads and trails of Northumberland and Peterborough townships?

I know I enjoyed the stay at the "for profit resort", after riding 2300kms to get there... nice place and was glad to meet up with all the fellow ADV'rs.

I did not check into the camping prices at the Elmhirst Airport, but that may be option next season as I always drag my tent every were I go. And yes Finndian, if you are reading this, I did camp 8 nights last year.:rofl
