Anybody know a good place to ride around Aspen in the Eastern Sierra? With boondock camping. Green tag only

Up around Lee Vining, Bridgeport and Bodie.

I’m heading up there next week! Can’t wait!

Seems like there are lots of dirt roads off of 395 that you could venture off of and do primitive camping. Sonora Bridge Campground is just east of the Marine Base off of 108 which could be ok. Not sure how much riding you could do off road but there should be something over there.

edit: doh!!! Missed the green tag part. I think you can ride some of the CA BDR with a green tag though I'd consult the MVUM (motor vehicle use map) of the applicable national forest for sure. The part out of Big Pine was scenic. There are also forest service roads off of Montior Pass area.
