Just out riding around no place special, going which ever way the wind blows me.
Looks like a nice two track.
oh my, better turn around, might be snake handlers back here, thought I might have heard a faint banjo riff floating thru the trees.

Clouding up, lake effect rain squalls moving in, time to beet feet back home
Those are some inviting trails. Them harder-packed trails are sweet on the GSA. Maybe next year I could get up there and have you show me around some of those trails.
I read the whole way through this thread and loved it...great mixture of easygoing exploring and working on the bikes. I've only been to the UP once, but I will be headed through there in less than two weeks headed for a Boundary Waters canoe trip in Minnesota. The Great Lakes are beautiful and Superior really draws me. Thank you and take care.
Pack your long undies
Only left Chippewa County for a tiny bit
Somebody’s chihuahua running around at the corner of Flatfoot rd FS3637
nice camp spot on the Pine River
This part of the county has a lot of limestone,so the two tracks are hard packed and fairly dry
Camp 10 pond
This is a real gem of a road,it winds and turns through the forest and no atv allowed.
Speaking of atv’s being that it’s a holiday weekend,I came across 5 or 6 packs of them, and although none where acting stupid, actually they were moving rather slow, but jeez do they tear up the dirt even when slow, also did see quite a bit of evidence of squidly behavior, doughnuts in the middle of a forest service road digging furrows that now everyone has to drive across etc.
Swamp off of lone pine rd near M-123
Days are getting short, winter is drawing near, and it rained till noon Sunday then the clouds subsided, time to ride and hit all the big cities here, Bay Mills, Brimley, Rudyard and the outskirts of Moran.
Ran into this fellow, tried to get him to drag race but he wasn’t going to waste no time on a Klr, he had bigger fish to fry
Stopped here for no particular reason and was just looking around when I started seeing old junk, might have been an old camp or something, the 5 gallon can barely readable Farmers Union, and what looked to be the engine case to an old chainsaw,I’m attracted to old junk for some reason, all the questions never answered, who was it ,what was it, why did they just leave it all here.
Carp River just outside of Moran
Heading back north
Up to Whitefish bay on the big lake.
If you can zoom in you can see the windmills in Soo. Ont. approximately 20 miles away
Tomorrow it won’t look so clear, the tv weather girl says the jet stream is going to bring smoke from back west
Needed to get the oil circulation on the Valkyrie exercised today, didn’t go far maybe 80 miles, too much stopping and snooping around .
How fast it can change, today we have record high water levels.
36.5 miles across to Batchawana Bay Ont. it’s just a fuzzy image on the horizon
"time to ride and hit all the big cities here" That put a smile on my face Looks like a nice ride!
6UVEM ... nice!
I know, I had a moment of vanity earlier this year,it wasn’t that much extra.
Beautiful day today,60 degrees more or less, light breeze and no clouds, I rode 130 miles but hardly stopped for anything just enjoining the last vestiges of summer.
As soon as I turned off the gravel onto a two track I spotted this in the dirt, now I don’t know about the rest of you all but I hate all this political BS ,none stop advertisement for this party or that candidate, all over the internet, tv and radio.
So without showing disrespect to the office of the president of the United States, I backed up and like a patriot planted the 805 shinko squarely on the banner and roosted it to tatters .
This is the only other picture I took today, two track not far off of Lake Superior
Back home changed the oil and cleaned the air filter, might even wash it ,since I’ll have to be putting the bikes up for winter real soon.If there’s no work tomorrow I’ll probably take the Valk out for the last time and change it’s oil also and then start all the prep to put it in hibernation.
Taking the Valkyrie out today,it’s warm, sunny and near 80 degrees, the only fly in the ointment is high level smoke
Had to stop in Newberry for gasoline and subsistence ,I have a love hate thing with this time of year, love the air, lack of tourists and the colors, but hate the thought of the coming winter
Those cheeseheads don’t know much, but they sure know how to make beef sticks.
On to the muddy Manistique River
A little public service announcement ,some folks have to be told everything .
Back East thru Curtis and Engadine to H40 to get back towards home, I’ve been by this little place many times, but never stopped, until today .
Well back to the barn and drop the oil and filter, just over 200 miles that ought to have the oil warm enough . Very well could be the end of riding the road till next year, hopefully the world will be in a better situation than this year, my selfish self would like to go back to mid-Ohio in July .
