So plans to take the dirty bikes to the Mark Twain Nat Forest for Mem Day were foiled by the weather gods. So new plans were hatched at our Tue night pubcrawl. How is the weather out west. Looks good , let's go to New Mexico. Sounds good but wait! The Devils Highway (191, formerly 666) is only a little further, let's do that too.

So after work today we left Tulsa and made it to Woodward OK at sunset.

Only pic I took today. I'll try to stop and take more but no promises.

Highway 191 is known as the Devil's Highway due to it's former designation as US 666, but "El Camino del Diablo" is a very different and historical Arizona route.

Have either of you ridden it before? I assume you’re doing the Springerville-Morenci AZ section?

Lots of sand on this ride..... you'll need knobbies.....from your pic of your bikes, it looks like you both have street tires?..... and permits are required to enter the Barry M. Goldwater Range. I've been asked to produce my permit in the past.
I'm looking forward to reading how you did on this ride!!

Thanks for the reply, the thread title is a bit misleading. We are riding part of the "devil's highway". Us 191 from Springerville south. I would like to ride the one you posted info about some day.

Some dirt was ridden but no KTMs were harmed during the making of this ride.
