Well ................... Sure is quiet.
Beautiful country, great report, and thanks for the ride.
We rode from San Salvador to San Fernando, about 65 kms pavement, 36 kms dirt road. The views and twisty roads were great....
Juan Carlos and his XT660R
The road from Dulce Nombre de Maria to San Fernando had some great views
Thats Dulce Nombre de Maria down there
Maxito and his KLR
ADV rider Guillermo and his KLR
over Sumpulito river bridge...
Maxito, Guillermo and JC
arriving at San Fernando, Chalatenango, close to Honduras border
a break at San Fernandos central park..
San Fernando is a nice little clean town
thats the road down there
back to Dulce Nombre de Maria
it was all good to this point, unfortunately about 30 kms from here we stopped by the side of the road waiting for JC and Maxito was run over by some f.....drunk driver on a pick up truck that went off the road. He is doing fine now, but with a broken leg and had to go through an operation to bring all bones back to place. The drunk driver is in prison and had triple the admitted alcohol in his alcoholtest.
Get well soon Maxito !!!!!!
Chango, when are you going to be around???
Maybe you`ll like to ride with us???
Keep in touch.
We all have been down but not out and we all on this post support you and can not wait for the day you get back in the saddle again.
This is a photo of Max and his wife at the BMW Rally, get better soon buddy.
Hey MADF , I will be down the second week of March . Hope to meet up and ride with ya'll .
Man you guys look like you are having way too much fun down there, FYI-you have the life!
Brand new high quality bikes, great weather, great dual sport riding, pretty women, friendly culture....
what more could you want
Well, i just now remembered my password. I did make it in March . However wrecked my first day there between San Salvador and El Tunco.
Kinda got scratched up and pulled all muscles/tendons in my knee and a lil concussion. Back riding again now and hopefully will return in July.
We rode from San Salvador to Atiquizaya-San Lorenzo-Rio Paz (blind border crossing to Guatemala)-Comapa-Jutiapa-Ayarza-Miramundo-Tatasirire-Jalapa the first day.
We met a gas station
Reynaldo and La Guara(cool fender art)
the gang ready to leave San Lorenzo
Mario Jr and his KTM 450 exc ready to roll
Mark and JC
We got to first river, Mario Jr went first (being a lighter bike)
pick up crew had no problems crossing it on 4H
Reynaldo suggested and we agreed on getting in the river to help cross one by one
La Guara's first
Mark's Caponord next
It was Reynaldos turn, but he noticed he had a flat rear tire
It was a fence clamp that got it. This guy came by with his truck and offered to help so we used his lighter socket and he put on some mariachi music while we were at it
Meanwhile Fernandita had some fun
Fernanda and a local fisherman
Julie and Rene
We got Reynaldos tire fixed and continued with JC
suddenly river got deeper, had to hurry with the Reynaldos and mine
now Rey's happy, hes bike on the other side
first river is over and we were in Guatemala
Looks like fun I'll be back soon.
"GRINGO NO MORE LOCO"
