I figure that seat height can easily be added (with more padding) if need to, sliding back at the seat can also increase the seat to pedal distance.
Maybe 750w motor is not enough for hills in Seattle, but around my riding area is plenty.
52v 13 Ah battery is likely to make a difference, too.

It wouldn't come close to fulfilling my ebike "mission". To my eye it's clearly best utilized as a class 2 and I don't see an issue with that... I agree it would suck at class 1 and doesn't have the juevos for class 3...

I think that Class 2s will always be a thorn in the side for the ebike community. The throttle totally confuses the concept of “bicycle”. The anti-ebike groups jump on that and all the Class 1 and 3 owners suffer. Those that make the laws and regulations are confused and just lump all classes together. It’s not the speed issue since 1s and 3s just stop assisting; you can pedal your 40+ lb bike as fast as you want. If you just twist the throttle it becomes a moped, not a bicycle.

I dunno.... I still don't see a class 2 = moped... at least in general

Class 2 still have 20mph max, mopeds don't (I forget how they define the mopeds here in AZ, don't really care)... mopeds are generally much heavier, not to mention noisier and smellier than class 2 although I understand here in AZ there's an electric moped classification too... again, I forget, just don't care, it's not my use case at all...

On a slightly different note I still think there ought to be a waiver for old and disabled that allows them to operate class 2 as class 1... and yes, I did write my local politicians :nod

I honestly think it will be established through courts. The first time elderly or disabled person, who was ticketed or harassed on a trail, sues the government under ADA, it will be over.

I have a note from my doctor stating that I need an ebike for mobility due to a knee injury, two knee injuries, actually. If I’m ever ticketed, I’ll start shopping for lawyers with that note in my hand.
ITMT, Boulder is releasing the results of their study of allowing ebikes on county trails and open spaces at a conference on Oct. 2.

I doubt they care about class in NYC metro, NJ area where I commute during the weekdays.
There are hundreds of delivery folks (Uber Eats, Doordash, etc) ride electric bikes in all hours of day.
Granted there are no hills like Seattle, but constant stop-n-go, hard acceleration, mostly full throttle operation without pedaling.

In my rural resident near Valley Forge, PA I don't think there is enforcement of electric bikes on MTB trails, granted that I have not seen electric bikes on MTB trails, but I see them on the paved trails along the Schuylkill River all the way into Philly; there are no enforcement on the paved trails neither.

Close call this evening. I was checking into a hotel and parked my van just outside the door. When I returned to my van 10 minutes later, I see this.

Fucking scum probably spotted you out on the road and followed you to the hotel and tried to make their move while you were checking in.

Doesn't look like there's much room between sidecar & right pedal.. might get heel strike if you have big feet.

We ride our ebikes all up and down the skukyill and perk trails. never been approached by anyone LEO or otherwise. Infact since there is so much more MTB riding here in PA, I hardly trail ride dirtbikes unless I have a whole day free. Way more accessible than Moto in this area!

After losing one in a Motel 6 parking lot, mine goes in the room now. Lucky your timing was good.
