    Hi again....<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
Just had a talk to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:personName>Jerry Finley</st1:personName> who specialises in parts for K series BMWs in the <st1:country-region><st1:place>USA</st1:place></st1:country-region> - Pirates Lair. He tells me that some BMW dealers are saying that if they put any accessory on the brakes (braided brake lines, etc) on the latest model bikes, then the bike's warranty is void!!!<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
Are any of you able to confirm this? If this is so, then I need feedback on whether you would still be interested in our product on this basis.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
We are not prepared to build cruise controls for these bikes unless we can put failsafe mechanisms in place on the bikes - and that means hydraulic switches in the clutch and brake lines as per my previous thread. If that voids the warranty, we wil presumably have either a very small market - or none - which means it is not worth the effort in proceeding.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
I am trying to get an official answer from BMW Australia on this, but to date have been unsuccessful. It is not clear whether this is a real BMW policy or a 'policy' being applied by individual BMW dealers. In any event it is a serious concern.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    All feedback welcome.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
    Best regards,<o:p></o:p>

Tony, I'm in OZ , bikes out of warranty... no problem.. I think you will be very suprised at the response to your product.....Most of us buy these bike to do long distances ... I have only had mine 12 mths and covered 20,000 kms... I only get 1 day off a week normaly ( last weekend 1200kms) The friction control is a pain in the ass..it's a poor substitute for the cruise control I have in my car...The only risk I see is that BMW bring one out on their new12gs's... I'll still buy one off you as I have 70,000Kms to go before I trade up ( just about got my 12gs right)

Mind you.....the right product with the right backup at the right price is gold.....

    What do you think guys?

The run I did this last weekend (1200K's) was a problem sticking to the magic 109 kph on the Pacific H'way (Bruce H'way IN qld)..with the friction control.... TONY DO IT !:clap

Don't have a 1200 GS, but do have a MCcruise on my ST1300 and it works like a charm. Better than any cage cruise as far as holding the proper speed. I hope this goes through for you guys...

    Hi all....

Well....we got the cruise working today on the road for the first time. Performance is awesome! The installation is neat - no modification of the bike required - and safe. We wouldn't release it, if it wasn't!

We have to modify and re-manufacture a couple of components. I hope to have a price for you by 10 April and a kit available by mid April. I will also have an MPEG clip of the key components up on our site in a few days. Any experts out there who can shrink these things - MPEG files that is? It is 57Mb at the moment!!! Also looking for a freely accessible site to put it on as it might blow my web site traffic allowance out of the water! Any suggestions welcome.

    Regards,

    Tony

    Hi everyone,

Well....we were a day or so late on our prediction....but a cruise kit is now available for the R1200GS. You can view the components and hear a bit about the product at http://www.motorcycle-cruise-control.com/shop/index.html. We haven't got an exact price yet, but advance orders are being taken and the first kits should ship around the middle of April.

Hope you like it! Perfomance is unbelievable!

Cool! I'm interested in this little gadget. I visited the site and didn't see how to "Advance Order" anywhere. Did I just miss that or is there something else on advance orders?

I'd like to see detailed pics of the installation before I commit. For hosting your video, you could break down into 3 or 4 parts and post it to YouTube.com

You could definitely increase your sales if you included a detailed DVD installation with every order.

I think I would buy the option of the bike being able to fly or turn into a submarine or maybe some kind of lght speed warp drive thingy, but if those things were not avaiable I would get factory BMW cruise on a GS.

I'm still waiting on retractable knobbies too.

..if a 'group buy' ever happened? The post was almost a year ago and I was wondering if anyone here has bought this cruise control unit? Looks like a great idea.

I can vouch for the quality of the MC Cruise. Susan's 2006 FJR was the "test mule" in North America. There were a few issues with her MC Cruise and the fellows were simply spectacular in their service.

She has 40,000 miles on her MC Cruise now and it still works like a charm

This is a quality firm with good products and service
