1. Hey everyone, We’re going to start a weekly email to surface interesting threads in the forums. No worries, you can easily unsubscribe if you don’t find it interesting. If you’re like me, it’s nice to have someone willing to poke around a big community like ours and find the most interesting stuff. Saves time and I hate missing something great. It worked really well when we had someone discovering the best photos for the home page rotation back in the day. And if you have something fascinating to post, maybe this email does everyone some good by getting it noticed. Let us know what you think when you get it. Your feedback will make it better as we go (thread). Thanks! Baldy & rudy1220

I've searched and asked in the testing thread... no luck.

How do I embed a video from Smugmug with ADV Xenforo?

    Thanks

Go to the smugmug video that you want to post and click on the share icon (bottom right below the video, should be the icon on the left).

    Select "Get a Link"

Click on the Embeddable Links Tab

Click on the "Copy" button for one of the "Video Embed" links (either one)

Go back to your post in ADVRider and click on the media button, third button to the right of the smiley button - it looks like a two film strips and then paste the url into that. We set up the site to take the data, parse out what is needed and do it for you.

@PhilSpace Awesome. This must be a new development, because I had tried that with no results. Thanks

I made the changes to recognize Smugmug videos about a month ago, someone else had requested it.

Do these instructions still hold true? I'm not seeing a "get a link" option.

I an not seeing the "get a link" option either. I am not very technical and have tried every variation I can think of and cannot figure out how to embed a video from Smugmug. If someone would explain how to do this in a "user friendly" (i.e. idiot proof) way it would be much appreciated.

I contacted Smugmug and have a chain of 6 emails from me to Smugmug with a number of screen shots and 8 emails from Smugmug and and a lot of hours trying and I cannot get a video from Smugmug to work on ADVrider and am at a dead end. If anyone uses Smugmug and is able to post videos on ADVrider and would let me know how they do it I would really appreciate it. I can post photos without any issues, it is the videos I cannot get to work.

After a few more emails between myself and Smugmug I got the following reply:

"I've just found out that the new software that ADVRider and DGrin are built on does not support embedding video from SmugMug galleries. You can link to your video but not have it play in the post.

That forum now only supports video embeds from Youtube, Vimeo or Wistia. "

This is really a shame as I originally went with Smugmug to help support Baldy as Smugmug was hosting the site.

Sad... no updates on this? Would love to be able to embed smuggy videos, not just post links to them...

Gracias amino Andres, I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble..

If the photo geek can out geek you, SmugMug is in big trouble..

Shame, best service ever before this new and ''updated'' version..

Until few months ago, I used to be able to finagle this via manually editing but now seems completely fubar. Are the below the sole supported formats, and smugmug isn't anymore?
