I had one of my more memorable bike moments at Bryce back in 86. I was stopped at an overlook and I could see what looked at least a hundred miles. There was a covered picnic table with a sign warning about summertime lightening storms,"stay in your car!!!!"

Way off in the distance I saw this big black cloud in what was otherwise a clear sunny day. I got to thinking " I should be going, but I'll just take another couple of pictures."

I just get going a few miles down the road and there is this sudden massive dump of hail. I was huddling behind my WindJammer, " No need to panic I can handle the hail". Then lightening struck close by. I felt it. The flash and the crash of sound were together, with the sudden extremely loud clap of thunder; I jiggled the throttle and the bike went sideways on the hail. " NOW is the time to panic!!!"

I got the bike stopped and hid in the trees. There are those who might say this was stupid, but I figured there are millions of trees around, but only one motorcycle. Stay in your car only works if you have a car!

While waiting out the storm I watched the folks in their Caddy's drive past. When I told the Rangers what had happened, they closed the Park. This I found out next day at the campground in St.Georges from some very unhappy tourists. Needless to say I didn't say it was my doing:)

    Can't ever get enough UT!!

    ...especially when you capture it.

The wife and I also just finished a '12' trip two weeks ago(cage sadly). Nice overnight in Torrey & then on to Yellowstone.

Like already said Signal, it's fantastic seeing you're still out there!

    Thanks for sharing.
