Energica planning small-ish (and presumably affordable) electric motorcycles

    No pictures. They're partnering with Del Orto to make two power trains, 11 kW and 30 kW (15 and 40 hp). I hope the 30 kW version shoots for really light weight (well under 300 lbs.), because that would be a game-changer. I doubt it will happen though. Manufacturers are too afraid of doing anything too different, but that means they aren't going where the real advantages of electric power shine brightest.

    IMHO, the best use of those advantages today would result in an EM that is more like a hyper-bicycle than a small motorcycle, with high performance of a kind and character that few have experienced before. It would open up a new market.
