Very difficult to push the Help button without trying to - especially repeatedly.

I'm going to hold my breath 'til she's rescued...

Good Luck, Erica! You're a brave one and deserve to keep on your quest!

Not much - you have to want to push the button. I guess that there's a possibility if it's in a tank bag and something pointy gets stuffed against the button that it could, but it's not likely.

I love my Spot - never leave home without it.

Update: Camogreg is now in Enterprise and will contact the Sheriff's dept. to see if they have an update. Once he finds out something there he will continue on to Hess Rd. to help her with what ever is needed. Once he leaves Enterprise he won't have cell service for awhile but did say he would keep me updated and I will keep you all update.

She'll be in good hands with Greg. Go Greg Go!!

Erica, I hope it's just a minor bike problem that resulted in the Help message being sent.

    Positive thoughts being sent . . . . . . .

Hoping it's minor, otherwise I think she would have used 911.

    Good on you Camogreg :thumb

If all is well, better get some tires for this type of riding or this will repeat.

Hope she is ok hopefully its just a problem with the bike

Could be an idea to set up an emergency thread that everyone can subscribe to for future emergencies, then all ADV members get alerted and more chance that one of us is close and can come to the rescue

I think there is a tent space area that also is used as who is where and how much they are willing to help.

    An emergency only thread.....

bunch o drama queens around here would be using it to signal help "out of bacon an beer, come quick" :lol3

Best wishes on Erica, thanks for the SPOT info.

    Waiting.

    WAHHHHHHHOOOOOOOO :clap :clap :clap :clap

Erica is OK, :clap not hurt! She crashed on some loose gravel and the bike isn't ridable right now. She had her camp set up on Hess Rd while she waited for help and when the Sheriff got there they moved her to a campground down in the Canyon next to the river. Cooper Campground I believe is what Greg said.

Greg is going to get her and the bike. One way or another all of us here in the Northwest will get her back on the road. :ricky

LB - it is easier for those of us with the light background theme to read posts if they aren't in a light color font. Just saying.

This is great! I hope she will be able to get the bike fixed and continue her journey. Sounds like a Spot might be a good idea to add to my supplies.

Cool, I was a bit worried that the title of the RR would be a bit too close to the truth.

Weird to be able to follow this stuff from the other side of the world.

    No need, quite honestly.

We've proven it many times over here: Get a thread in JM going (by far the most traffic here) and a cross post going in that region, and the word will spread to those who can help.

My personal belief is to have as rear support the phone numbers (and/or contact via SPOT) of a couple of Advers who aren't on a ride at the same time as me. Something happens, they light the tree, problem solved.

Like I said, we've done it a number of times, always works.

Falls under the KISS principle, ya know? :D

    So glad to hear!

Another big win for the SPOT!
