To everyone that has read my ride report over the years, thank you!
This thread has long been dead, but for my own piece of mind, I feel like a bit of closure is in order. It's been close to eight years since I took my trip. And sadly after coming home, I just lost the desire to ride completely. I stopped riding entirely. Other things in life took precedence, but I never sold my bike with the hope that I would get the itch to ride again someday. And just this weekend, I towed my bike to a shop to bring it back from the dead. What brings me back here to this thread is to openly thank every single person that has given advice, positive reinforcement, a meal, a place to sleep, a tour of their town, or a helping hand on my past journey. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, but it wouldn't have meant much without the people I met along the way.
I can't wait to start traveling by bike again. I hope to see some new and familiar faces on the road again soon!
Welcome back Erica!
I just finished an interesting day trip to the bottom of Hells Canyon, and thought of your adventure down those roads. I was in my Subaru and cut a tire on those sharp rocks, so had an emergency flat change, 23 miles from 'civilization' of Imnaha! No cell coverage for another 15 miles even!
Maybe I'll get to meet you this time....
By the way, look into the new Garmin In Reach.
It offers 2 way communication.
Better than a Spot and cheaper service too.
Awesome! Please, if you should start another thread, post here first so I'll receive the notification. One of the first ride reports I ever followed. Welcome back!!
Just spend a few hours of my sleep reading thru this all.
How can reading a ride report be so emotional?!? Like someone said, it's like following your little sister's trip. Or daughters. Man!
And I didn't even notice it was old as! You know the weather warnings and all just matching.
Why not getting down to New Zealand? We've got showers and food too!
Take care, girl! I'm waiting for more reports to come...
This is exactly why I don't unsubscribe to favorite old RR's.
Great to see you on here again Erica.
Very cool. I enjoyed this RR and look forward to the next one. Where ya headed?
I'm eyeing the Continental Divide next year...

I am looking forward to the ride report Erica.
Please link your new RR here.
Looking forward to your next adventure.
Hello Erica . I have no idea what made me think of you recently , but I was telling my Wife about you and the highway to hell report . So I had to see if you were still active . Good to hear that you will start riding again . Some people that had written epic ride reports just disappear and are no longer heard from . Often I remember a great report and see if people are still active . Best of luck in whatever you do , enjoyed this report and have re read it several times .
Hello Erica glad you started riding again, get out there and do your thing. There will always be people that might not like things , but you do what YOU want if it makes you happy. I would like to say one thing I have picked up about you, your a leader not anybody's puppet. Keep doing your thing, the hell with others who think they know better. I'll try to stay up to date here, if you ever come through Texas it would be a great honor just to met you. Stay safe and no holding back girl.
Oh snap. Reading material for the next week or so!
Erica, your RR was one of the first that I read. Glad to hear back from you. Looking forward to hearing about your return to riding.
She just bought my F650GS twin, and plans on giving her the love she deserves. Looking forward to their adventures together as well.
Hey @erica728 did you end riding the continental divide?
Not yet. Work and a new camper van have kept me occupied. But it’s definitely still on my to do list. Possibly this fall!
