docwyte - I hear ya - the newer bikes geometry/power/comfort will eventually force me to retire this old gal.

Below is what I think my Vintage 640 looks like.

..we both are getting older quickly.

The hotel/cabin plan is definitely the fastest way to be up and on the bike early so I completely understand. Done it plenty of times myself.

    Loving the report man!:ricky

All riders and bikes are now back in town. Thanks to the entire group - and each rider individually for all they brought to this ride.

Thanks Mike R. aka. R-ADV, the chase rig was on target for the second leg of this ride. Also for map/prep!

1100 miles of throttle and beers - and not one virus sighting.

Unfortunately there really isn't a modern equivalent, especially weight wise. Nothing out there matches a 640A, it has a real rear subframe, tons of suspension travel, weighs under 400lbs, has at least a 300 mile range and makes ~60hp. You can build something to replicate it, like ADv'ing a 690, but you can't go out and buy something already like it.

Just got this in from our riding group - glad the Junction still has fuel, food, beer and rooms.

Pete Pilot - we have started to feel the same way over the past few years. Nevada is a great mix of cool high elevations up North, and warm desert tracks in the South!

steve 57, Dual Sport riding really covers such a wide variety of riding! Some days are rocky and rough, and other days fly by with smooth open gravel!

brad21, your location says Carson City NV. which our group feels would be the perfect spot to base operations. You are a lucky individual to live in a superior state for ADV riding!
