    DAY 5 May 6th
We pack up and leave Butte. Headed south on a once again high speed run. The big 1290 sings a tune between 4750 - 5000 rpm. No music for us, just the sound of the bike and our talking back and forth. We say “HI” to all the smoothies and cows along the way sometimes honking the dualing Mercedes Benz horns at them..haha! Besides a bit of cold in the morning the weather has been great so far! 8781949A-AB49-4D00-BB14-D1BC0FD389D6.jpeg Gotta love the scenary! Its so easy to just ride on through but I have to make sure and pull over to capture some pics. C264398F-9E1D-4C97-9E7A-EEED87597F18.jpeg Along Interstate 15 0E8416F9-EE2F-4C30-87DC-2DE2A9DD459C.jpeg We reach Idaho Falls and ride a bit through town looking for a place to eat. I see a HVAC company and see a dude unloading his van. I say “hey you got a minute?” He replies looking over at me “who me?” I ask him where a good place to eat is and he recommended this one. When in doubt ask a local! Spot on!! BADC55F4-2581-4ED0-BF41-3AA4945AD635.jpeg Nice and warm outside so we sat right next to our bike

We arrive in Lava Hotsprings and spot the KOA sign. We pull in and I check on a cabin only to find they are a bit pricier than previous ones. The gal informs me there is a KOA just down the road which might have cheaper ones? Huh? The thing is is that this was a newer location and the cabin was brand new! Microwave, TV and a Fridge in this BAD BOY! Haha!! SOLD!! Let alone the awesome new bathroom/shower building right next door. Also about a block from grocery store and main town street! SOLD!! I had planned on staying for 2 nights so we could really enjoy the Hotsprings. After staying at Burgdorf we are hooked!! After we got cooked at the hotsprings we freshened up and I checked out the bike. Here I am adding oil. Pretty slick! I moved the fill location up in order to have room for an external filter which is part of the GUGLETECH system. It would normally be down behind the GL bag. D52FB9D4-D6F4-461A-86D9-3CD26C6CCC45.jpeg Then it was off to the Wagon Wheel Lounge. We had stopped in here the previous day to check it out along with the Blue Moon pub up the street. We fancied the Wagon wheel as it seemed the locals hung out in here. The Blue Moon seemed more of a biker bar and they had a “mens night”! OMG!! You kidding me? So our choice was spot on seeings how we hit it off with the locals and they bought us beers!! 619ED64A-B76A-439E-AB18-BC2BA643CBDC.jpeg Hahahaha !! DAY 7 May 8th
Our plan was to make it to Manila KOA near the Flamming Gorge. Heard it was gorgeous so my route put me on the 30 to link up with I80 then south. It started off pretty good except for damp conditions. But when we came across this Sheep herding it lifted our spirits! How cool is this!! 2D6E75EE-E8E8-480E-A2AB-6DB8FF5E7A12.jpeg 1B3A6473-6FE3-489C-819C-ED95B9330BBB.jpeg 8476084D-DB18-45D8-9437-6D0A03561A7F.jpeg He must have had at least 6 dogs and you could tell some wanted to come over for a petting as we sat on the side of the road! Cool stuff! A7938615-2CFF-4560-8AA4-C50E2088A82F.jpeg

Yeah well then we hit this crap. Didnt realize as we got closer to Diamondville we would be near 8600 feet!! Snowing!! Cold! Endless road! Where is I80??!! How much more of this?? Haha! It was brutal! 28-34 degrees! Ate some food there and made it here then south on hwy 530. Now that is a sweet road!! Hopefully @HoneyBunny has some pics! For now I’ll leave it at this. Cheers! BCB96C91-EE82-43B3-A226-46BFEE0C99E8.jpeg Ummm yeah. We got 2 heaters for the cabin that night. Safe and warm. Of course we wanted to go south the next day and the owner of the place said its gonna snow. “You’ve got 2 passes to go over!” Really? No no no! Didnt want to hear that. And if you have ever been in Manila there is pretty much nothing! Stay tuned...we’re riding!!

    DAY 8 May 9th
Well we were’ nt going to hang out in Manila. We needed to go south! Isnt it supposed to be warm? Ha! We decided to just wing it and see. Well it snowed and was 28 degrees on hwy 44. Strange thing is semi trucks would pass with major wet spray coming off their trucks. 28 degrees in our neck of the woods means ice! So we kept going. 16D283DA-7A4A-4529-9C25-7C9453A79A64.jpeg BAB236C5-A2BF-4442-AAC0-117AEE3A3260.jpeg Was also windy! Oh I almost forgot to mention! The Flamming Gorge? With its breath taking views. Not this time..soo sorry Charlie. Didnt see shit! Oh well. We did see a great glimmer of hope with the weather the closer we got to Vernal on the 191 though! Wuuhooo!

Ohhh yeah!!! This road is supposed to have Indian paintings along the cliff walls which is the reason we took it. Next time i’ll research more cause we didnt see them or signs for them. I knew Moab was too far so I researched a place to camp on 9 mile rd. Theres one called 9 mile ranch! I had emailed him and made sure we got a spot. No problem!!! Ha! Not only was there nobody there but the owner wasnt even there. Sign up by his front door, money in an envelope and pick your spot! Just us and the cows! A few more from the 9 mile ranch. That night we froze our asses off! Ridiculous! Next morning it was 37 degrees braking down camp with the misty rain coming down. The tent was last to get packed and it was soaking wet.
