We had arrived!! Wuuhooo!
Well at first we started goind down the Moki Dugway. I thought to myself wait a minute...wheres Muley point? We turned around and went back to the top and found the road! (No sign posted)
Oh and that beer taisted good!! Maybe it was 2?
Sweetie looks cool calm and collected here but being up on the ridge and walking around really got to her! Haha!! Guess you can call me the “pusher man”. ! Come on honey lets walk up here!
thanks for scoping out my next destination Eric... thats where I'm headed in the fall when it cools down...
Me and Dingweeds camped on Muley point a few years ago.
It sure is a special place. We about lost a tent over the edge.
We did it on a trip where several of us combined the Utah and Colorado BackCountryDiscoveryRoutes.
Wow, what a place. Great trip @Oldschoolrocker and @HoneyBunny and thanks for amazing photos!
ya.. really cool. When wifey and I were there.. she got down on all fours and crawled to the edge. That was about it. Claimed she wasn't comfortable walking near the edge in her mx boots. ya.. sure honey.
Mokey Dugway was a favorite part of a ride some years ago. I rode it up and down on a Gold Wing. It's beautiful there! Thanks for the pics.
You know it Rudy!! Its something else for sure! We came from the north and looped to Valley of the Gods...i’ll continue on the ride. Got some more good stories..lol!
Man o man BIG DOG! That would be a ride! I had planned on camping there too but we where way early so kept going to Goosenecks. Cheers!
Haha Todd!! Thats some funny shit there and soo true! I had her about doing the same thing just walking over yonder for a bit! Had to hold her hand after on solid ground and let her calm down and regroup! Haha!! Got to love it!!
Oh my! On a Goldwing!! Guess that wouldnt be terrible but still. It is a special place and we’ll do it again without a doubt.
Its nice that you of all people are following along! Sure you get to ride what Europe has to offer but its great showing you our side of the world thats for sure. Really cool my friend!! Cheers!!
Sooo...man...feeling all groovy here looking back at those last pics. Definately need to go back. Well down the Mki Dugway we went then left for the Valley of the Gods!
This is one of favorites!!
Yeah well somebody had to have another beer! It was hot!! At least we pulled off the side unlike others who just park on the road...
One more from Muley point. Damn right I felt like a bad ass out there! Ha!
We rode the Valley of the Gods and by this time we where getting pretty hungry. Bill at 3 step told us about the “Swinging steak” place in Mexican hat. Sounded good to me! We get out on the hwy and get there. Hotel with Steak place next door. It was 3:30. I walk in to the hotel lobby connected to the place and ask..”so the restaurant is closed?” “Yeah they close at 5” Alrighty then!!! Haha! Must be missing something here. So I ask how much a room is and its 135? Ahh...no thanks. So then I ask about the pizza place next door. RV/ Camping place. He says they have seating so we head over there. We had to eat zumzing!! Oh this is about to get good. We walk in and are greeted by this dude. Not to rank on people but I wasnt too sure about this dude. I say hello and ask him if he is serving food. “Yeah ...I can make you a pizza” I like an idiot ask “is your pizza good?” Ohh shit!! He looks me up and says in a disgruntled fashion ..”yeah...if it wasnt good we wouldnt serve it!!” Alright I acted quickly and knew I had to defuse the situation. I introduced us and went from there! He said we could order a pizza but he wouldnt come outside to take our order. He said he would serve us a beer cause we ordered food. Well in the end he was a good guy just a bit slow but smart. The pizza was decent, beer cold and it hit the spot! He asked where we were going to go. I told him Goosenecks. He says” ohhh you know they are going to charge you 5 bucks a piece?” “You could go up to Mexican hat BLM spot for free” I thanked him for the advise and off we went.
Goosenecks State park...I had no idea! Glad we diidnt miss this place. So the river flows for 6 miles but only covers 1.5 miles over ground! Wow!! And its not the river that carved its way but the land that rose around the river!!! WOW!!
Just gonna load you up...
Goosenecks is a must see. Really cool! We set up the small tent in the heat and got burned some more thanks to a German guy coming over and rambling about bikes! Lol!
