While we where hanging out these boys showed up and stopped by camp! Crazy fools were gung ho!! We talked about Moab and 3 Step hideaway as they where going to continue north that night? Really great guys! From Florida but originally Columbia and Canada I believe. Come to find out they did make it to 3 step and Scott says they had a great time!! 5D22CB1D-A3B7-451F-A183-0001803BE620.jpeg D8E799A4-3646-4802-90E0-0DB659EC67CF.jpeg I’ll cont. shortly!! Great ride report OSRocker. I myself think this should've been posted in the epic RR section. You have a real knack for entertaining writing. FYI I'm 99% certain the 2 guys in the Mustang were Europeans (usually French or German) in a rented car as that's a common sight in So Utah; many rent Harleys or US muscle cars to tour the national parks down here. Overall they're great tourists that shake up the local Utah vibe in good way...

    DAY 14 May 15th
Back at er!! With all our gear loaded up and the BAD BOY 1290 fired up we made our way north. When your suposed to be back to work in 6 days you start getting that gross feeling...haha! Well not to gross! Plan “B” was already cooking inside this brain of mine. We got to go up the Moki Dugway this time and kept on cruising North on the 95. There is way more to see down there but it was time. Wanted to take the ferry across Lake Powell and do the Burr trail but the ferry wasnt running sad to say. Next time cause we’ll go back! We made it to Hanksville then West on the 24. Winds where getting a bit gusty too. We continued on towards Torrey. We heard they had great burgers and pies!

We stopped at this scenic lookout in the Capital Reef area. The pics dont really do it justice. We had met another group of cruiser bikes headed south and one was from Bonney Lake not far from our home! 468A5507-0AE2-485B-ABCA-F12C4A7CD8D5.jpeg

We got to Torrey and tried to find the burger place we where told about and found a great place after cruising the short area of Torrey. Nice break with good food and beers! Wuuhooo! Sorry no pics.... I was thinking an oldschool motel was in order after our break. You know the kind...squeeky bed, cinder block walls, cable tv, internet and hot showers with pressure washer nozzles!! Haha! Well we found one in the small town of Bicknell. We had actually rode past it after I spotted it and thought the next town of Loa would have more options. Nope! We turned around and went back. So a quick stop for beers and snacks to bring to the room after we checked in and we where set for the night!! That night we watched the local news and all they could talk about was the huge wind storm coming in the next day. Great...had everything else lets just ride on the freeway sideways tommorrow all the way to SLC!! Crap!

    DAY 15 May 16th
We actually had a comfy night...lol...got the bike packed up in the morning and our next destination was Salt Lake City. I had been in contact with my cousin who just bought a house there so it was cool to be able to visit for a couple days. We had been there years before and stayed with him in his condo downtown but was in San Diego for a stint. Back when we rode the Concours down there we stayed with him. So off we went not knowing what to expect heading up there. Wind? Ha! No sirreee! We got lucky and made it there before it got nasty!!!

    DAY 17 May 18th
Next up was going to be more slab towards Boise ID. I had contacted @jjr66 about a decent hotel in the area. We had met on the Wallowa Jamboree and hit it off great and stayed in contact. He gave me the name of a great place but then mentioned for “0” dollars we could stay with him and his wife in Nampa!! Ohh hell yeah!! So off we went into the pouring ass rain up the interstate. It eventually stopped the closer we got to Idaho. We stopped in Snowville to remove the rain gear etc and take a short break. We eventually arrived in Nampa and where greated with open arms!! Beautiful people, beautiful house, bike parked in his garage on a epoxy floor but best of all was the King bed in his guest room!! OMG was that a comfy bed! Haha! We sat outside and shot the shit over beers, later had a great dinner then some Margaritas!! Life is good in Nampa! Thanks Buddy!!

We said our “good byes” in the morning and headed for hwy 95 North. We where going to make Spokane in one day. A bit of a push but time was short! Just a good ol’ gas station pic here. D7D6E16E-BCF7-40B7-B6B5-1CC27D3FF1D8.jpeg Our lunch stop for the day would be here n Riggins ID. We both enjoyed a great big salad with a couple beers of course! Cheers! We kept heading north and soon got to Lewiston. We had never been there but saw an overlook off of the 95 we could look down. Well to my surprise..and a very happy one...just below us was the “Old Spiral hwy” !!! Sweet! I had always wanted to ride that ! So I asked if she wanted to ride down so we could rip it up and we did!! Yeah that was a rip! 830 pounds of bike and trailer!!! Haha! I did the best I could and we had fun! 3B77B4B8-F15B-4D8D-B7AF-22F6E0DA44A0.jpeg 1D7254D8-7828-48D6-8625-E9687AC0F0CF.jpeg 61ADEA37-CB74-40EB-A047-E11465A80E14.jpeg 9A2EEB22-634C-450D-8B01-87E338619F72.jpeg Next up we’ll be back in Spokane! DAY 18 continued:
Well after our mind altering, knee dragging run up the Spiral hwy it was time to stop goofing around! Last pic I took was actually 5:50 pm and it looked like we had over 2 hours to go. Night riding...no thanks! Deer around...no thanks! I wanted to just ride up the 95 in Idaho but goofed and headed towards Pullman...no no no!! Crap! Didnt want the 195 cause we had done that. So after Pullman and the town of Palouse it was up the 27 towards the Spokane Valley. I had called ahead and made reservations at...you guessed it...the KOA! Hahah!! Cabin of course.
We headed north winding our way through the 8 or so little towns. Its actually a sweet little road but not during the time we did. Fear of deer, wind kicking up at times holding on for all it was worth (uurrrggh) and then the sun setting directly ahead. One of those days you just wanted to get there. Too much seat time and just flat done! Well luckily we made it to the KOA without being blown off the road, got our cabin and slept!

Thanks Bill !! 94EACF66-9EF9-4B21-AF33-6FC7098C1776.jpeg This table in the cabins always had all the essentials. Charging of electronics, french press, coffee, beer, snacks, sharp knife, make up bag, etc etc!!!:lol2 095B672D-46E8-4410-8E2B-BB3E92BC88EC.jpeg And getting to see these two little munchkins is always special!! Sweetie’s back there checking out the new high tech bubble dispenser tube thingy mabob gizmo they have nowdays! :D We spent the day hanging out with the family, took sister out to lunch at Brothers Office pizza and just chilled. Later we went back to the cabin and got things pre packed for next days ride. Oh I almost forgot to mention...my back is really sore and am taking Flexerall (wink wink) so a couple sick days are taken...lol! 18D16DA2-0323-452E-BE67-7FAC941CC9CF.jpeg

We had our helmets in the shopping cart along with the bush and the cashier said”oh i’ve gotta see this” I told her I was cheating and had a trailer! 428C431C-B972-4D99-B9A9-A20DF1839266.jpeg We had a nice visit that morning, said our good byes and hit the hwy... The salvage yard is for truck parts. It's a fun and twisty highway which I've run up and down a number of times on bikes and a few cars. But it is very unforgiving of any mistakes. The same could be said of the old Whitebird grade.

We took a stroll around along the river. It was nice and mellow. They have really expanded the size of this KOA and I had stayed years ago in the summer and the place can be an absolute zoo!! Yeah yeah yeah....enough already with the damn food..haha!! Heres a new fav flav....curry wurst. Usually I do a couple Oma’ Bockwurst and Sweetie does the Big Bob’s Bratwurst. But my sister talked about this ketchup she had (curry) so I had curry on the brain. So now I do one of each!! And Sweetie figured out they have giant soft warm pretzels with cheesy butter sauce!
