So we left Tacoma and rode to Spokane for our first stop. Always nice to see the family there!! The weather was awesome at the end of July. Our plan was to stay there then make our way towards Stevensville MT. I had planned on camping the day before at a fellow inmates place prior to the ride but then received a PM from @Captain Salmon offering us a nice comfy bed in his guest room! Wuuhooo! Deal!! We left Spokane and headed east along I 90 then to Patty creek rd to Hwy 12 (Lolo pass) then east to Lolo and our comfy place. Was really cool being offered a spot to lay our heads let alone the tour of Missoula we later got from out hosts!! ECD11C43-A345-4CFC-8216-A202E7253A59.jpeg Be sure and stop here along Patty creek close to Hwy 12!! This was actually on the way home. We had passed by here a few times so a stop was in order.

for as much stuff as you have on there.. it's pretty well organized and none of the "hanging out parts" usually seen. Looks like a killer ride is starting..

Thanks for the packing comment! I wasnt sure what the conditions where going to be as far as the trails go. I had just heard and seen some horror stories of people hitting shit with their hard bags. The ammo boxes I rigged up dont stick out far and would probably give if I did hit something so it works out. My thoughts are always about staying upright with @HoneyBunny on the back and the last thing I want to do is hurt her! And the thing about this trip was the ride/camp factor. When its time to go in the morning one doesnt want to be left behind. As it worked out we did a pretty good job. Most everyone had left the camps in the morning except for a couple of us but we always caught up to them because they would grab breakfast. We do coffee in the morning then ride!!

Day one in Stevensville! So its really cool when you first meet up with the group you are going to ride with. Really cool!! And when you show up 2up its even cooler!! Nobody expects that and i’m sure some might have their doubts. Nontheless its a bad ass feeling the first day as one gets ready to embark on something you have no idea really entails! 3720445C-4AA6-4F57-9E4A-BBDA32981C60.jpeg F3884AB3-1B48-4957-8235-A3BD2DF94E6A.jpeg And knowing you are in Montana and will most likely have grins around every corner...priceless. After we finished this trip the two of us just cant get enough of these adventures!! Working is a downer...riding is an upper!! 5023DE0F-CA60-4D6E-8DC4-E195FE92BC35.jpeg

Okie dokie lets move this along!! So I’m not going to go day by day as far as the ride goes but post up some of the beauty of the trip with comments. Alot has been covered in the BOM thread so I’m not going to rehash. I will say the ride was incredible to say the least. Its almost a blur in a way. For us it was definitely fast paced. The mileage numbers per day really dont do it justice. Once you got packed up and riding it was a push to keep going and make it to the nights camp. Once there and set up you had time to relax but sometimes it seemed short. And knowing you had to get up early and get going is what made it a push. We did a great job of keeping up I must say! No doubt. Some of the shit we rode on was crazy to say the least. We had a slow low side once when I was trying to skirt the outside of a muddy puddle and the front tire washed out. Wow!! That was the first time we had gone down and hopefully the last! Knock on wood! Both of us were fine, bike minor damage(pic coming). We ended up making it through one VERY challenging section to alot of fellow riders amazement. We were on the limit without a doubt and I managed to keep the bike upright although we had about 8 close calls due to babyheads, sand, moon dust, and fishtank pea gravel. All very challenging 2up loaded like we were. Also I might note and it seems weird but is how it is...both of us sit the whole time!! IDK ?? The big KTM is comfortable enough and just tractors along refardless of what it is on. Just seems strange to me we did the whole trip like that. One other point is I was glad to be on the 1290 in the highway sections! Hell yeah! The bike shines here and definitely never loses pace. Well enough ramblin’ for now. Time to post up some pics! Cheers!!

Our first break after heading out. WOW!! B aaabaaammm! Welcome to the ride I thought! 28868560-3564-49DB-8562-65BA63F2D984.jpeg 6FCF3FA4-235D-4351-B4AA-21C43A6DFE65.jpeg EEBE0E63-4C6B-4B97-8467-098ABB1A7D03.jpeg And first nights camp. I found that KTM orange tent at Grocery Outlet for 20 bucks!! Haha! It packed up so small and not much in the way of poles so I figured i’d give it a try on this trip and just use the fly in case of rain. 775582EF-03F2-4ED3-9EE9-53FDB22CEDBA.jpeg

I sure like your camp setup. Your tarp over the tent gives me an idea for my kit. Nice!!
