This weekend I visited Ka'ena point, Army beach and the North shore. There is a lot more shallow lava rocks on the Northern beaches compared to other ones I've visited. I'd hate to surf right into them since a lot of them are obscured by the water.

Still looks beautiful with heavy overcast.

Some better pictures of the Rivco anti vibration highway pegs. IMG_20200204_080229.jpg

Ever since I installed the Oxford heated grips, on long trips my hands will buzz from high frequency vibrations felt thought the Oxford grips. These Grip Puppies have totally muted the vibrations, the heated grips are a little less hot due to the thickness of the grip puppies. IMG_20200203_191956.jpg

Nice pics of the N. Shore , looks like Rocky Point. If you are on the N. Shore during the weekend, mainly Saturday, try to check out the Kahuku MX track, it has a small yellow sign on an unmarked road that goes up the hillside, near a bus stop along the wall before you get to Velzyland. Google it, easy to find...keep the pics coming, My annual pilgrimage to the N. Shore didn't come together this year, your thread keeps reminding me to carve out some time and go before summer comes. Thanks again!

I'll be on the North Shore tomorrow. I'm guessing the MX track is too technical for a big adv bike? I've seen a lot of dirt bikes on trucks covered in red clay. Not so sure I want to stain my bike with that stuff.

Hawaiian Spam Musubi I made. Spam here is about 50% more expensive than on the mainland. I'm thinking about joining Costco, hopefully I can buy it by the case load.

I rode to Nimitz Cove Beach in Kapolei for a work function. The night before I had made 50 pieces of Musubi, 20 hot and spicy, 30 Teriyaki for the event. All by hand without the tool to make them with. Next time I'll be buying the Musubi maker. Anyhow Nimitz Cove Beach is right next to the U.S. Coast Guard flightline.

It's a secluded beach with the usual Chronics hanging around (homeless on meth) in tents on the side of the road leading up to the beach. So not somewhere If leave my motorcycle unattended for a long time. A good view of Honolulu and Diamond Head.

Not the best beach by a long shot. To many rocks but a good area to have ceremonies and functions.

I loaded the Musubi in my top box and halfway there I could hear an annoying creaking sound. At the edge of my mirror I could see excess movement with the top box. I pulled over and found that the 2 of the 4 bolts that mount the top box mounting plate had sheared bolts.

This is the second time it has happened and it is a major pain in the ass to remove them bolts. After a very long time I managed to remove both sheered bolts. I'm going to have to be careful I don't overload the top case in future.

I'm not into cafe racers but this Thruxton R is not bad looking.

I ordered a kickstand extender for the PCX a few months back from China (pre corona virus). It arrived a few weeks ago and promptly sanitized it in Lysol.

On the Vstrom I finally got round to installing front and rear brake pads. Brembo all round, replacing the original pads at 25,000 miles. Realistically the original pads would have lasted 3000 more miles.

I haven't test them so I cannot offer any feedback on them. I have Brembo brake pads on my Mustang and they put off an extreme amount of brake dust. Hopefully these are different.

Picture of Lanikai on an evening run.
