Had to drive through 10 inches of fresh stuff yesterday.
that really sucks
wow, I was daily'ing my wife's Ninja last week, then mid week I switched to my bike.. one afternoon I took my truck because they forcasted rain/flurries and I wouldn't be home til after dark.
Did an impromptu ride to get away from the crappy weather
It was 35F when I left and 80+ in TN
I was a great ride, but a tough slog and at times I questioned my sanity
About fekin' time! I think... Maybe... There won't be any more snow...
I think the bike is out on Thursday. We get snow on the 26th and 27th butitwill begone fast. I was able to push it in late Fall but I don't have the yarbles to start the season freezing likeI did in November. New intake, mapping and slip-ons on the HD are calling me out.
Very cool, Peter! I need to get together and ride with you this season!
Hmph. Supposed to snow again n Calgary on Friday then warm up afterwards. Think I will put the battery back in today with the hopes of sneaking a quick ride soon... avoiding all the road gravel... till I can get to some real gravel!
(On the news last night, a reporter said the City of Calgary dropped the equivalent of "taking the roof off the Saddledome and filling it with pea size gravel" this winter... now they will start to clean it up and it will take until the first week of July to do so - probably in time for another snow storm! - but the Volker Stevin (?) people responsible for the highways have already started clearing major intersections.)
Saskatoon is now good to go. Put about 700km on the bike since Friday
Went for a quick jaunt on some gravel west of town it was nice just to get out after a very long winter. Hope spring stays for a while but the forecast is for more snow whats with that anyways
Felt so good to get back out on the bike this past weekend. Has been the longest winter of no riding breaks that I can recall in my 31 yrs of motorcycling in the Calgary area.
"31 yrs of motorcycling in the Calgary area" = about 155 rideable months... or 12.9 years!
That's a worse conversion rate than "dog years"!
That has to be the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.
Tears are running down my face reading that.
Glad I could brighten your day.
Sad but true about Calgary weather though... it is a whiteout here again today... "10 - 20 cm of snow expected by mid-Friday morning through Canmore and the Foothills..."
GRRRR. I have to drive to Spokane tomorrow morning... looks like I will take the #2 south through Fernie now... :huh
As bad as it can be a year ago we were riding Feb/March
Man I'm just dying of this 35 degree heat in Costa Rica. Winter has been tough this year. Can barely get my sticky riding gear on.
Is that a fer de lance under that table....they just love warm places! hehehehe
I guess it depends on if I just got busted surfin ADV or something else.:eek1
Been waiting for eons to say that
No it's not... I wish... we're getting frost warnings at night
