I usually get involved in custom projects....... It is hard to make a profit on these small pieces.....simply because most won`t pay what they cost to produce. These are made on the BMW guards...... then I just fabbed up the cf part........

So I have the OEM BMW handguards on my bike. They are very sturdy and don't block crappolla for wind. Are the additional spoilers any better and does anyone know what they run?

Not sure what they cost but I remember it being more than 2 pieces of plastic should cost! They do make an improvement but they are still crap compared to the 1150 ones I had before. I must add that they have stood up to a few dozen falls and are holding up well. OK more than a few dozen....:D

Well since I wasn't going to retunr the OEM guards I ordered the spoilers. $40 including shipping. Hopefully this makes it better.

Spoilers have arrived. They seem......unimpressive. No time to mount this weekend. Besides, its 12 outside.

Agreed... They do look nice -- and are very strong. But they are angled downward and provide no protection from the elements. I'm quite sure I saw an aftermarket guard that utilizes the BMW support some months ago... now I wish I remember where I saw it.

Aha -- it was Wunderlich! And AeroFlow as well it seems.

That would be the Wunderlich set. Not cheap, but they do provide good wind protection.

    Questions

    1) Your handguard bar is slightly bent before it attaches at the handlebar, mine is straight. Did you bend yours to fit? I think I might need to do some bending on the clutch side guard bar...

    2) I got the clamp to fit, no worries there. So back to question number one...

The hdb force your bar into a certain position, you can't rotate the bar up for additional standing room for tall guys. That I didn't expect.

If anybody can help or provide guidance, let me know please... I will also ask Paul.

    Thanks...

Yup, I "re-configured" (bent) the shape to my liking:evil.
Not sure about the "force your bar into a certain position" comment.
I just installed another set for a friend and he liked a totally different position from mine. I drilled his bar at another angle as well.

He thought my set up was weird:lol3.
Still loving the set up 5k miles later!:clap

Storm sounds and looks too much like Strom. I'm still emotionally scarred from when our forums were merged with theirs so there is no way I would every consider those... just saying :rofl

Cheers, they look like they offer significantly more weather protectiom than the standard BB VPS plastic guards, even with the spoiler?

They are pretty good, but went for about a 1hr ride this morning at 27*F, and my pinky fingers were ready to fall off. Only had my leather gloves on with the heated grips on high. Immediate thought was to get back home and forewarn you...LOL
