Hi. I noticed your posting (above) on fixing your instrument cluster. I am having the same problem on my 2007 R1200R.
Would you please send me the information on the capacitor you replaced? That is, a description suficient for me to purchase one.

Also, if you have any additonal pictures of how you acomplished the repair, would you please sned them to me?

I am mechanically suficent to chaneg oil etc., but iI am hesitant about working on the cluster. I do have a soldering iron.

Thanks for any help ypu can give me.

This posting was a good resource for me too. I have successfully repaired my cluster board with the help of a great old school electronics tech, however, the stepper motor for the tachometer was damaged in the process and now seems dead. When I pulled the needle off using the two spoons method, the shaft came out of the motor. That is not supposed to happen. I now have a problem finding a replacement motor with these markings. I'm going to post a photo in the hopes that someone will see this who can help. Once the part is sourced, the replacement should be easy because it is attached with four soldered pins.

The stepper motors are common to many dash assemblies on EU cars & Bikes, the F800 one is the same as the F650GS single 2000-2009, Juken/Switec, note the change from X15 to X25 stepper on the later year models, current compatible unit is X27-288 Juken stepper motor Code: SEI-X27-288

    F650GS Single Stepper Motor Markings

    Hello,

I am looking for replacement lcd display but have no idea where to get them from. Wreckers are quoting $250 for the whole instrument cluster. Was wondering if anyone knows a source. Much appreciated!
