^ yup that's exactly how I feel, but sometimes it's worth the trouble if you can gift someone with a better understanding.

    TomD,
I'm 60 YO and I've maintained a small fleet of vehicles, aircraft, on/off road motorcycles, jet skis, boats, motorhome, etc. for almost 50 years and I have found quite a few uses for WD40. It isn't perfect, but it is handy. I'm no expert and learn something new every day.....and I also have a shelf full of other 'elixirs-in-cans'. Sorry if you can't find a use for WD and prefer to troll others about their experiences and choices. Anyway, I'll have no more to say on this topic.....and wish you all a happy and safe 2017
    Thanks

what makes you think that I'm trolling? a man post his toolkit which appears to be very well put together and very informative except his choice or a lubricant/degreaser/etc. i challenged his choice and all i get of a response is name calling. so I'm asking, why would someone only carry wd40 in a kit? or for that matter why carry it at all?

and for what it's worth, i too am over 60, deal with mechanics on a day to day basis, have a can of wd40 on the shelf and never reach for it.

It is good for tube changes. But I don't use it.

Well said. Do what you feel you need to do and learn from the results. Then evaluate, respond, fix or call an expert. We all screw up at first but the smart ones learn and adapt. Gunny Highway said we should `ADAPT AND OVERCOME`. If not call a friend.

C'mon... both of you claimed to have nothing more to say on this topic. Why not take the machismo wd40 talk to another thread and let the OP get some quality exchanges from those who have slightly less ego?

Looking forward to some more positive dialog.

What length extension is required to remove/install the spark plugs? Already have a thin wall 16mm socket, and it came with a 2" extension for a 1/4" ratchet.

IIRC I used a 150mm/6" extension for the plugs.

Ok so couple of questions - The list below is the list that's posted on 1st page that is supposed to be a complete tools list to enable someone to be bale to work on the F700/F800gs.

My questions- 1. Can i obtain these tools in a "Set" , if so where ? 2. If not - what's my best best to piece these together?
    3. I envisioned power tools being involved - is it possible to work on the bike and do all the items listed below simply w/ wrenches and torx bits?
    4. The only Sockets i need are the E10 and the E12? those two will hold Torx BitsT20 - T55?

    Torx T10 left control housing
    T20 throttle assembly
    T25 fairings, control, body work
T30 muffler mount, signals, motor chassis, rotor
T40 triple clamp, brake pivot, rear rotor, brake line
T45 body, exhaust mount, fork axle pinch bolts, controls
    T55 Bar Ends

    Torx socket
    E10 handlebar clamps
    E12 Front Caliper brakes

    Wrench
    13mm Chain tension sprocket
    17 mm Front Axle
    24mm Rear axle
    24mm Drain plug.
