As far as handguards go I have mounted R1250GS/GSA Touratech hand guards on my F850GSA. That kit works great so longs you have at least 20mm bar risers. I have pretty much gotten the same answers as above from Touratech, they don't plan on much for the K8x. I talked to AltRider hoping they had something for the K8x, but not yet. It sounded like that they would eventually. I have their crash bars on my Tiger 800XC and they have worked perfect.

I have a feeling we are not gonna see alot of aftermarket for the f850gsa. It is taking way to long and the aftermarket manufacturers just dont seem to like this bike.. only Wunderlich tried to do something about the bars.

Wunderlich did a great job...I can attest to their survivability and ruggedness after a ~40mph wreck offroad. No damage but a small scratch on right side upper crash guard.

Glad to hear of some real world tests. I've been down on my OEM crash bars at low speed a few times with no damage but I'll be getting the Wunderlich support bar to beef it all up a bit more.

A little angst on my part to pay Wunderlich prices and then pay even more to buy a reinforcement bar to make them truly functional. Really? Worse still is Altrider’s new bars are non-adventure model only (although I did email them to confirm. If anyone spots a adventure model upper bar that looks truly decent please pipe in.

I have the reinforcement bars but I'm unsure of the size of the torx bolt I need to remove on the body. It seems bigger than the biggest one I have (T50), is it a T55?
