I think I missed it here or in another thread, do the HB guards work with the GSA?

The HB guards don’t work. I asked hepco about that and the tested it on a GSA. And the are not planning on manufacturing new guards for the GSA.

    What doesn't work about them?
If they hit the windscreen, I would not be above carving a small notch out of the windscreen with a dremel.

I'm guessing the bracket on the inside would hit the extra side fairing at full lock. Bummer ... we have no options currently I guess?

I have mine installed, and even got them tested unfortunately, lol, as I wrecked on mud and gravel at around 40+mph offroading. No issues with TFT or fairing being hit, no damage to the bike but a small scratch on my right-side Wunderlich stainless-steel upper crash guard.

We have to wait for someone to make something fitting, but I dont see that happening anytime soon..
So all we can do now is install risers and ride! So time to find me some good risers for this bike. Any suggestions?

Yeah I figured that, I just meant which ones exactly.

    ADV-GD-KIT 1- GS ADVance Guard
    F800, 700, 650 GS all years
F850, 750 GS handlebar setbacks required
    Out of stock.

that’s what I got from the site, I have a gsa. Were the regular guards for the GS the ones that worked on the gsa WITHOUT risers?

Trying to follow the thread. I have F850 GSA, soon to receive Touratech 35 mm risers (6'1") What hand guards will work, Machine Art or VPS Barkbuster? BMW offer anything more robust than stock?

    Hi Proeasy.
I just did your homework for ya! I went through this whole thread and the only ones confirmed here to work on the GSA are Nova's r9t model BBs.
That doesn't mean the Barkbuster BHG-075 won't work with your 35 mm risers, that may be enough to avoid interference but you will have to try that for yourself. And let us know.

Besides the fact that I can’t remove the OEM hand guards (the screw on the side is way too tight), is it possible to remove the OEM support of the hand guards ?

    Adjustments.jpg

Or will I have that extra piece of plastic just hanging around?

You should be able to get a big wrench on that end screw, it will come out. On the handguard inner Mount, yes I just took mine off yesterday. Unscrew your whole mirror stalk by turning the whole mirror around, make sure you're going reverse threads on the left side mirror.
It will be obvious at that point, but the handguard mount just slips up and off the remaining silver bolt, along with a black washer. Then just screw the mirror back into that Bolt, again reverse threads, and slip the rubber boot down over it.

Same thing other side except regular threads I think.
The mirror stalk has a lock nut that you will have to tighten to keep the mirror in a rigid position. While doing that turn the handlebar all the way towards the windscreen and tighten the lock nut down about an inch away from your screen.
    Hope this helps.
