    Agreed on those repair shots.

I would also like to hear from Gerry to recount his experience getting his chain repaired in the middle of nowhere! A lesser man may have needed a trailer.

    Way to go n00b:clap

Is this Hay Creek rd. that runs south west out of Whitney through the park? If so is this an actual road or the typical Hydro line trail? I can't find Dysart on any of my Electronic maps, it looks like it has amalgamated with Dudly, Harcourt, and "others"

Yup, that's the one. Some time ago, the local municipalities got together and called themselves 'Dysart et al' (since Dysart was the largest of the bunch). Pretty creative, no?

    As for description:
The North end of it starts as a logging road. It eventually turns into no less than a truck-width service path, mostly along the hydro line. Along the way, there are some water crossings (just ruts and standing water), deepest of which you wouldn't want to stall in, but doable. The trickiest parts of the trail were at the South end just before it spits you out to a back road. On the whole, a lot of variety (grade changes, wet/dry, hard dirt / rock, fast / slow sections), and the views along the corridor were incredible! You could spend all day in that area and be quite content.
The hardest parts I thought were the grade changes under the tree canopy, where you sometimes have to deal with an entire slope of rocks covered with leaves, and soaked by rain. Not too difficult on a smallish bike - but had me and my tiger (over 800 lbs as loaded yesterday ) nearly sideways a few times.
I was humbled by the fact that MotoAxe was able to do it on his 950, with a pillion, and on scorpions, no less.
I think the KLR and DRZ with us had less trouble than me, too, but I can't say for sure, since I was too busy trying to stay upright to get more than an occasional glance.

Congrats Dean, that's amazing and I'm glad to hear Mom is recovering.

There were more than a few "where's that feckin vcrash" statements flying around the campfire.

Glad to hear your not just a big pussy afraid to hurt your bike again:D .

And don't worry we had plenty of beer dreaming up excuses for you since you could have walked over. It would have been a hoot to hook up again but what the hell, you have a new Son:clap and we'll get plenty of chances to abuse the beemer.

Good to hear you still know how to use it,

HUGE Congratulations on the new baby!!:clap :clap

I was hoping you'd show up this weekend, but I can understand that being there when your son is born may trump a ride with a bunch of posers. I think we buzzed close by your house - we could ahve all come in with our muddy boots and saw the new baby!

Certainly look forward to riding and/or crashing again with you next year.

That was awesome :D It was a pleasure to meet all of you, and we're planning to be back for next year!

More of the same on today's ride home from the cottage, sun, rain, more rain, crazy high winds, more rain, showers, more rain....all in all it beat the hell out of working today!

I thought that picture was supposed to be entitled "The Devolution of the Boxer".

Left to right you can see where BMW started to go wrong. Looking further right you see where they lost the plot altogether.

    No?

Wasn't that guy one of the few KTM riders who actually rode his bike to the Wolf Den?

Poor bastard. Looks like the vibration really got to him.
