I recently fitted Fastway footpegs to my BMW G/S, easy fitment and lowers your leg position by a good 25mm (1").

Man, they look HUGE! Do you ever find flying foxes hanging from them?

    Thanks!

Big problem when riding a long distance on the older and in fact newer BMs is the problem with Cramp. The problem of course is exasperated on taller riders.
Those that have lowered the pegs indicate that it is far more comfortable especially after a long day. The camera angle makes them look like footboards, but they are only a little wider than my KTM Pegs.

I will take a pic holding the other pegs against them this arvo.

Yeah, sorry, I was just taking the piss!
Thanks for the photos, they look worthwhile. I take it those are the ones with the screw-in pins and the pink stuff is LocTite!

I've been using the Fastway pegs for about 8 month on a BMW 1150 GS Adv.
They are extremely well made and very very comfortable for riding on the pavement or standing up in the rough stuff.

They have a reversible mounting method - you can achieve a lower position or maintain the same height. They come with two set of screw-in pins (see picture above in first post). You can achieve different degrees of grip on your boot by using shorter or longer pins, or a combination of both, which will give your boot a forward tilt when standing. I have only used the short ones since I don't do extreme mud riding.

I changed the angle of the shift lever to give my heavy duty boots more scope under the lever (built in adjustement on the standard BMW lever was sufficient).

Apart for the Lightforce 170 driving lights, I consider the Fastway pegs the most useful modification I have made on my Adventure! (5 min install)

Nah,I don't mind the GS's pegs.I've got a Aprilia Pegaso which I'm setting up for a 4 week trip out west next winter and I need wider pegs to make it more comfortable to stand up on.Got a custom single Madaz pipe coming next week and looking into fitting a 21" front.

no real plans yet.Was thinking of doing some of the places I missed 2 years ago,Plenty Hwy,Dalhousie,Palm Valley,Mereenie Loop, maybe up or down the Strez or Birdsville Track,Dig Tree.
Although someone mentioned the Ord River Scheme so who knows.I'm on holiday the same time as the O.C.R. but I'm a bit of a plodder and sightseer so I don't feel like racing all the way over to Gascoyne Junction.
I'm still trying to hook up with someone for safety in some of the more isolated places.

Thanks for the offer Bill, I'll definately keep that in mind.I'm a fairly average dirt rider and don't want to hold anyone up.The ocr ( definately off centre next year )is always on my mind.

    Bill,
As Frank said in an earlier post ref the OCR, probably a better option, warmer in late July early August than a run straight across from East to West via the Gunbarrell. I also want to do the Gunbarrell, not decided as yet either.
