While looking at this picture I can't help but wonder what you're favorite places to eat are along the BRP or surrounding areas :-).
I'm sure you've mentioned many throughout this thread but can I hit you up for a few? BTW I love breakfast and a good club sandwich lol.

Indeed they are. I'm tempted to say they were mooved by my presence... :)

Thank you, that's a very nice compliment.

    You're exactly right, good call!

I threw them some tall grass from my side of the fence, but I couldn't get them to come any closer. When I walked away, however, they quickly scarfed up my offerings. :)

Early morning and late afternoon/early evening are my favorite times on the Parkway, for the "peace and quiet" you mention. Good stuff.

I don't eat much when I'm on the road; it cuts into my riding time. I had breakfast before I left Monday morning, and didn't eat again until I got home Monday night.

The Gap Deli, at the junction of BRP/52 in Fancy Gap, Virginia offers above-average fare: http://www.thegapdeli.com/

I'm no big fan of riding the Parkway in the dark, but as the sun went down I was still in North Carolina, about an hour out from my home in Virginia. I knew my many stops this evening were eating into my daylight, but I don't make it a habit of passing up photo opportunities like this.

So, for the next hour I plowed through a sea of bug hatches as thick as tapioca pudding, as I slowly and carefully navigated my way through the world's longest, narrowest deer sanctuary.

Last pic on the day - I've lit up many "welcome to" signs over the years, but I think this one is a first for me:

Thanks yeah I understand that. I love the area and usually stay at Willville MC camp. Always try to hit Floyd on Friday nights an end up eating at the General Store or in Meadows of Dan. Occasionally head down Squirrel Spur Rd. and work my way over to Mt Airy. It was more fun when Russell ( Floyd the barber) was still working.
I figured I ask you about food being as you are local and know the good stuff and not the places they try to send tourists .. Lol.
I've always taken my trips down there on the Harleys ( 00 FXDWG & 01 FLHTCUI) This year I'll be trying to hit more gravel roads on my DR650. Beautiful area you live in.

Not to intrerfere on Fbad's thread but:
Sonny, if you head a little farther south on 52 you can visit Pilot Mtn state park and get some nice views of the Blue Ridge Mtns from the foothills.

Thanks yeah I have been and it is awesome. I've been the full length of the BRP several times and it never gets old. Often I'll head down to Maggie Valley to the Wheels Through Time. Love that place as any American motorcycle enthusiast would.

Can't believe y'all are cutting alfalfa already.......if you want to smell a little corner of heaven ride by there 2 days after the cutting.

FF, you sure make it hard on us guys who live 9 hours from the mountains but dream of being there every day.

    Keep those spring pictures coming.

If you want to get really close to the bovine, scale the fence and go out in the grass and lay down, they will come over to see what's going on.

With my luck, about the time I laid down with the cows somebody would pull up and I'd end up on YouTube. :D

Denise and I mowed and mulched today until about 1, at which point I got cleaned up and headed out on the bike for some R&R.

I parked near the summit and hiked about a 1/4-mile down a trail until I found a quiet place to call my own. Spent about an hour here, basking in the sun. Spectacular.
