Metal. UO (unobtanium) would be my guess. :)

You're welcome. Just dropped it off at the post office.

    Indeed, and amen!

Thanks, but the Mackie feather you gifted me so many years ago is still in pristine condition...

RKA - There's a name you don't see anymore. The cross is very cool and sized just right for the tankbag on the Scrambler. Many thanks in advance!

I'll have to put on my thinking cap for a suitable trade. I have some ideas... :hmmmmm... something that would be Ferris-worthy. :D

That bag's been back and forth across the country quite a few times. I don't use it anymore, but it's sitting here next to my computer, ready to go, just in case. :)

    You're welcome.

I snuck in a few hours of in-the-wind this evening, loathe to waste even a minute of our crisp early-fall weather. Here are a few pix:

This was taken on a quiet backroad up near Buffalo Mountain, next to the prettiest little stream you'll ever want to see.

On the search for other pics from 2006 this evening and ran into BRAT-MATT. Found the Lonesome River Band and this image, one I had forgot I had taken. Same bag, same feather. Redkey, Indiana - September 2006.

Found many bluegrass bands since that day. I had always been a fan but that day became one of those epiphany moments seeing the pureness of the music through someone else's ears. Then later a few years you & Dnutz turned me onto The Steel Wheels. Who woulda thunk? So here's one back-atchya if you haven't already heard or seen them...

Old man give me endless time
    Never let these ties sever
It's breaking bottles in the yard
    Never still my mind again
    Like old ties and companions
    Just sitting on the fence
The tears we've carried through the years will change
    And man that's just enough
To keep these ghosts around those haunted fields
    But old ties and companions
You and I were just passing through
It's a hundred thousand miles of lonely track Holding back tomorrow
Someday I'll hop along and ride it home
    Like old ties and companions
    We never leave alone
So old man give me endless time never let these ties sever
So heaven knows and all this fooling around
These times won't last forever, after all

^ Nice memories, seeing my beloved '06 Road King again, and it looks like I'm going to make some new memories with Mandolin Orange (clever name). Thanks.

Me 'n D are heading out to our landscaping gig in a few; I'll write you a book this evening, or perhaps this weekend.

You've probably already seen/heard this concert from MO, but I listened to a few songs last night after your post, just before I turned in, and bookmarked the link so I could come back later and savor it all in one sitting:

Well, you will enjoy the concert at Fraser. We have YouTube on our TV. We watch/listen to a lot of music concerts while working around the house and this is a favorite. We have watched it many times. They play a song with just Andrew and Emily(sans band). They also have a song about his mother passing near the end of the concert that is real touching. It will rip more heartstrings than you knew you had. Reminds me of Ma Bueller in some ways. My thoughts are that you will connect with the song "Golden Embers".

Glad I found something you had not heard. :D Now that you literally live in the heart of Bluegrass country it would be a challenge to find a band "new to you".

Thanks and good timing! My first thoughts were, thinking in terms of your tankbag, to place it in the map pocket. I didn't consider the physics of the situation. The map pocket on the MotoFizz is a flap with a built in key pocket that velcro's at the back of the bag. There is a small gap in each corner so it slid right out with a little nudge and gravity, unlike the feather which stays put. Well, not to be stifled I considered several placements on the bike that was subtle but not hidden like it would be in the key pocket. I agree on the unobtanium. Aluminum-ish but lighter weight and die-cut. Nice 3D effect especially if it had painted edges.

Gears turning. :hmmmmm Stay tuned! :thumb

To make this full-circle it looks like a return trip to Fox Hunter's Paradise to photograph the bike is in order.

Saw this earlier, thought maybe SOMEONE had carved the F and D....
but later realizing my sweetie would not do that... not on nature's own beauty.... yes he has many times sculpted an FBAD on the sn*w or sand on our many adventures... but not here. AND looking closer, it is not an F at all, but an A... still, FBAD, forever. :)

I only have 3 bands on my spotify that I listen to every single day riding in to work and all day at work, Alison K and Union station, Sarah Jarosz, and Mandolin Orange, nothing soothes my soul like riding in the mountains and listening to any of these three artist.

I think I could really get along with you guys.

JB2 has introduced several new-to-me musical artists over the years, including AKUS, all the way back when me 'n D still lived in Cali. We were fortunate enough to see them live in concert down in Charlotte several years ago. Unforgettable.

A while back me 'n D repaid the favor and introduced JB2 to the Steel Wheels:

Are you familiar with Wayne Henderson? He's a local legend.

    I think so, too. :)
