    jim, here's the damage report

left body panel is split. i was thinking it might be ok as is, but it's also broken where it connects to the panel above it. thanks to whoever put that zip tie on.

skid plate not quite up to the impact. that header is pretty much flattened.
looks like a lot of force. i think this may have happened when the suspension bottomed before i got launched. i came over a rise and there was a water channel crossing the trail about 10 ft down with an embedded rock sticking up from the channel's berm. the rear shock compressed at the same time the rear wheel went into the channel. the rock took out the skid plate and then the berm took me over the bars. that's my story and i'm sticking with it:rofl

here's a pic from above - the engine guard used to be summetric. the left side was pushed back and the right forward.

you can see the guard tubing was split above the shifter
    [IMG]

the front turn signals gone and the left mirror.

i just got word from ben; he got hurt real bad that he'll be out for about 3 months :kurt due to cracked shoulder socket...:cry

he still has to see an doctor if surgery is needed but i hope all he needs is mother time, a comfy sofa, tv remote and pizza delivery.

we have too many injuries, i tore a shoulder muscle, but the other guys are not as fortunate...miketoon, eggroll, dannyg, ccer and ben are all casualties from our rides. ride leaders and participants...put a lull, let's all take it easy for the next month or so.

Hey Jim....I am hoping the wobble is just a little "Fork Twist"...it comes on at 60+mph and gets worse during left hand sweepers......?????

Rob...your Dakar is looking bad ass! All except the beer cooler :lol3 Good thing DR wasn't there...he would have broken down over the beers that were lost before their time.

First off....get well soon Big Ben you and Dale are badass for being able to ride out all busted up like that....

On another note...and please understand that this is not directed at anyone in particular but.....

I was really taken back that Ben was left to make his way home with only one other rider....We rely on each other heavily when we ride together for just these types of reasons...

Joel went out with 3 other riders with just a broken bike....As it should be....

Two riders took CCer out after Cribaby got us pointed in the right direction....

But Ben who was seriously jacked up was left to ride back 50 miles with just one other...???...And if he had gotten worse or gone down again due to the fact that he was riding in the desert one handed...then what.....????...thanks Rounstock for helping out....all day......

    End of rant....

Now when is the next Desert ride.....:freaky :deal

You just can't fight physics and gravity.
Accidents will happen, but sometimes the aftermath is minimized with less speed.

    To many crashs...
Most are due to riding to fast or not the right bike for the ride.
We have to ask our selves are We capable of the ride at is being planned.
If not than than don't go.
The fast guy's are not responsible for the slower rider's crashing trying to
keep up and it throws the fast guy's rhythm out the door and they have little fun.
I know I'm and ASS but this needs to be said :baldy
