dsmitty, good luck with your ride! I hope to see you around Anchortown! Already looking forward to the ride report!
Just a quick note, of course better details will come later...
Met up with Jay(homeless guy) in Denver we have rode the last 3 days...it has been awesome. He was actually standing in the perfect spot to advert my first fall over!!! Boy, are those bikes heavy with all that crap on them!! Maybe I should have left my blow dryer and curling iron at home!!! Oh well....
I head off to the border tomorrow or the next day...I will keep you posted!!! Thanks for all the well wishes and advice it has been a huge help...Not to mention everyone praying to the weather gods, that has paid off HUGE...GREAT weather!!!
Do you get hazard pay for having to live in the tropics?
This'll be one to watch
Good luck you two.
She ditched me today to do her own ride and make this a female solo ride, it was great while it lasted.
I understand her desire to do it this way but will miss her company.
Safe travels Smitty, I'd ride anywhere with you. :rabia
Let me know when you are ready for that south of the border ride.
Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
Where to now?
Wow, how long did you stay riding with her, that was a quick trip. At least tell us you took a pic for proof and are planning to post.
We were together for 4 days. She really wanted to do this solo but was a little apprehensive so invited me to tag along until she felt comfortable with her new bike and load. Unfortunately for me that came sooner than I'd hoped for but the little time we had together was very fun and she and I got along great. We are now friends and I look forward to riding with her again.
Here's proof Curtis.
Actually I was just curious what she looked like.
Denise... i am headed to jasper banff area tommorrow!! Wed prolly late afternoon. You should be around!! Call my cell 918-289-3115 i am leaving you a message in the morning so try and check you messages!!
The ride is going great. Jay was a great partner, we did have a blast and giggled liked school kids at the Yellowstone slide show!! As with all of my new found riding buddies I am sure we will meet again. Pefect example is my meeting with Chas in Banff. We met years ago over a bike purchase and a scooter rally. We have been friends ever since!! We are hanging out at Chateau Lake Louise, if you haven't ever been here, it is a must see. I will try and get pics, my room overlooks the lake...amazing...
Curtis if you wanted to know what I looked like, just ask. I could at least send a picture where I had a better hair day!!! One of these days I am going to buzz it all off and wear it marine style!!! It would save me a lot of money on conditioner!!!
THANKS JAY FOR THE GREAT COMPANY, and for understanding the solo girl thing!!!
I will be in touch soon....
Have a fun and safe journey, smitty.
I look forward to the ride report.
I have a buddie that might be heading south in Sept.
Sounds like you are having a great time! Don't forget to ping use when you get in the Seattle area. I'm a little outside town LOL but given a little notice can get a bbq/party of other ADV heads together for ya. Lots of cool stuff to see around here (like active volcanos.. weee).
