    Protect them from what...........Canadians? I can see their concern, as you constantly see stories about the high risk environment that the pre clearance staff at Prince Rupert endure. The place is like the Newark of Alaska/Canada. Good grief.

    Well, that sucks. I took the Alaska Marine Highway from Prince Rupert to Haines on my first motorcycle trip to AK in 1986. Saved around 1,000 miles of riding.
