The riding here is not much to speak of since it is mostly flat and farm land, but Budapest is incredible and again is a spot not to be missed.

In a word disappointing or maybe it has just been so hyped up in our minds. There is just too much of bad roads packed with cars in between the few nice bits. I’d go here if it was on my way east, but not specifically even for the Transalpina and Transfagrasan. The capital is not worth a visit for sure.

So far the small part we have riden is very beautiful, but we will be back next year for more of the Tatra mountains. Great people and food. Kosice is worth a stop for sure and K moto if you need help!

    Ukraine

We are glad we went for the experience, but can not recommend this a “riding” destination. The roads are often incredibly bad and very straight. The cultural differences here make Ukraine a worth while destination anyway.

Might be the perfect destination. Great riding, people, food, drivers, and prices. We will be back!

We really have only see Prague, which is very nice, but we will need to explore this country more next year on the way east.

Great RR! I've been following you two quietly for long time (West Coast camaraderie) but now breaking the silence as it looks like we may cross paths with you sometime this summer and felt I should warn you :) We are a group of 5 Canadians (Nanaimo, Calgary (3), and Toronto) heading from London to Vladivostok via Iran and the Stans. Bikes and selves are flying into London mid May. Hope to be in Vladivostok by mid September to take ferry down to South Korea for shipping home. Don't have luxury of your life of staying on the road yet. Visas etc well under control although we will be picking up the Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan visas on the road. Would love to get more info from you re Green Card Insurance and any other details or advice, especially re route highlights through Balkans that you might be willing to share with us. Thanks in advance. PM me if you prefer.

Fantastic!! One of our group of 4 is from Calgary as well. He leaves from there May 2-3 to UK or Frankfurt not decided. We will meet him and our Swedish companion at Motoocamp Bulgaria. They are the easiest source for green card. I will PM you and we can chat there or by email. I will put together some highlights for you. Cool if we did meet up. We cross to Turkey May 18. We Have the Iran visas for pick up in Istanbul. Turkmenistan as you know will be the big issuse. Sara

Good news on the latest piece of the puzzle. I'm guessing you're entering Iran from Turkey and not Armenia as I don't see it on your eVisa list.
I'm imagining China must have been a bit of work for yourselves, not to mention the bikes.

Our group's Visas are progressing according to Plan.....Plan D or E (lost track). Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Tajikistan all in hand; Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will get on the road but paperwork is in place to theoretically make it "just a pickup".
