IMG_8694.JPG IMG_8696.JPG IMG_8699.JPG IMG_8707.JPG Not really an official ride report, yet my first time posting pics here, as well as the first time out with the new adventure bike or whatever you call it. After years of hiking, camping, and also riding cruisers long distance I decided to embark on this side of riding and combine my favorite types of exploring.

In and around Pisgah National forest on dirt roads, jeep trails, and combining forest service roads. Not bad. Oh, and a pic of me losing some gear and having to hike back about 1/2 mile to retrieve. Rookie mistake.

    Bingo!

Sticker was on the box from previous owner. I left it on there as sort of a mission to find it and visit, now I know!

Since my original day trip thread thingy, I’ve sold the Yamaha and been riding this beaut! Tiger 800xc....not bad. Some pics from the other day at Uwharrie Natl Forest.

I love it! Extremely capable bike. I keep tossing around the idea of getting a GSA, but the Tiger does everything I ask it.

F6449D2D-B2DC-4B13-81B7-B452A4B51E74.jpeg Yesterday was interesting. Set out to ride Table Rock and aroundish (Pisgah Natl Forest), but took a little longer than expected. Had crystal blue skies leaving home and all afternoon and then of course to the 2018 Carolina summer fashion...a great afternoon T-storm rolled in, sidelining my direct ride home, leaving me to detour more backroads thru the rain. But, once the rain stopped I had a nice pink sky sunset over my right shoulder, with a pink sky rainbow just in front, all while watching the planes fly right thru to CLT on landing patterns (no pics of that as I was on the hwy riding, you’ll just have to believe me). Anyways, around 6ish pm I sat out in Morganton NC to wait out the rain a tad before heading south, not very successful. But I did manage to miss a tornado that I would have rode right into had I not stopped to enjoy a fantastic meal at Fatz (sarcasm).

First pic was just a downed tree that I rode underneath. A young woman was there cutting it up for removal. I stopped to ask if she wanted help, she was good tho. Doesn’t work for the Forest Service or anything, just out being a good human being. I shook her hand and was on my way.

    Mitas? Tiger 800XC? Or both?

I love it. Tires are great and after yesterday in the rain, gravel, etc the Tiger 800XC is no issue.
